CONTENT STANDARD:
The learner demonstrates understanding of colors and shapes, and the principles of
harmony, rhythm and balance through painting.
PERFORMANCE STANDARD:
The learner creates a painting of natural or man-made objects to express ideas
using colors and shapes, and harmony.
LEARNING COMPETENCY:
The learner identifies colors as primary, secondary, and tertiary, both in natural and
man-made objects, seen in the surrounding.
I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the pupils will be able to:
a. Identify the different types of colors.
b. Create a painting using different types of colors found in natural or man-made
objects.
c. Appreciate the beauty of colors in our daily lives.

that some of you are familiar about it. Can
anyone tell me what the song is? Me, Ma’am!

Our topic for today is all about colors.
I have here the list of colors on the chalk
board.
I will present a picture on the screen.
Who can tell me the object that you see in
the picture. What color is it? Ma’am!
Good job!
How about this second picture. What is the
object? What color is it? Me, Ma’am!
Good job!
I am happy that you all did well!

2. Discussion
Color: is a way that we describe an object
based on the way that it reflects light. It
also gives life to everything here on earth.
Natural: is a color that can be directly
found in nature. God created earth. All the
colors that we see in our environment is
what we call natural colors.
Man-made objects: represents the colors
of different objects made by people.
So class, as you may observe, man-made
and natural objects shows the beauty of
colors. In our life, we can see colors
everywhere. Without colors, life would be
lifeless.
TYPES OF COLORS
Primary colors include yellow, blue, and
red. These are colors that can't be created
by mixing of other colors. Instead, they
combine to create secondary colors, which
in turn combine to create tertiary colors.

4. Application
Class, it is now time for fun!
Since all of you understood our lesson for
today, I will give you a painting activity.
I have printed copies here of natural or
man-made objects that you can choose
from. I want you to paint it using different
types of colors. Are we clear? Yes, Ma’am!
Good. You may start doing the activity now. (Children will start doing the activity)
IV. EVALUATION
Directions: Complete the worksheet using paint or crayons. Fill in the circles with the
correct colors and mix them.
V. ASSIGNMENT
On your arts notebook, write 1 example of natural and man-made objects that
represents the following colors:
1.) Red
2.) Orange
3.) Yellow
4.) Green
5.) Blue
