WHERE WILL

YOU EAT?
When you get bored with the regular mess food (which you will be
very soon), here are some food outlets on the campus that will help
you break the monotony. If you're looking for some snacks during
exams or a place to treat your friends for even the smallest of
favors, these are the places you will run to.

C3
A cafe of sorts, C3 is a place where you'd sometimes find music practices and 12 AM
birthday celebrations. C3 opens up in the evening and has a pleasant atmosphere with
the lights as decoration. They serve Chinese dishes like fried rice, noodles, and chicken.
They also offer different, exciting food options in their special menus, which are
updated regularly. They keep a stock of brownies, pastries, cakes, and various types of
iced teas and mojitos. You can always turn to Cold Lab, an extension of C3, for a vast
range of sundaes, brownies, and other delectable desserts. Its specialty is Coldstone
which is a mix of different flavours of ice cream with oreo, brownies. The floats they
offer are a perfect relief from the scorching heat.

FRUITFUL
A snack shop in CP, Fruitful has quick munches like burgers and cheeseballs on its
menu. It also has refreshing drinks like lime soda. It generally opens in the evenings
and closes around 9 PM. The pav bhaji they serve is super delicious. They also offer
tasty desserts like brownies, ice cream, and muffins. Planning a birthday treat for your
friend? This is the place to go for the cake.

YUMMPYS
As the name suggests, this is your stop shop for a quick bite. Known for its fried maggi
and fries, this place offers snacks at an average affordable price of around 50/-. You
can get Maggi boiled or fried, paneer, egg, or chicken at pocket-friendly rates.
Yummpys also serves omelettes and fried rice. The fries they serve late at night are
always in high demand and are worth the hype. They also serve noodles, chicken
biryani, paneer rice, aloo paratha, onion paratha, and several other dishes, which are
pretty palatable and are worth trying from their menu. You would expect to spend
around 40-60 bucks for Maggi, while dishes like biryani and paneer rice would cost you
100 bucks. Yummpys also keeps a small stock of Havmor ice creams and serves
coke/sprite at 20 bucks a glass. Want to eat something different yet cheap and light?
They do serve the all-loved classic Maggi, which is also available in 2-3 variations.

CHIPOTLE
You will find a wide range of food items on their menu, ranging from snacks like spring
rolls, kathi rolls, and pizza to various desserts like mousse cakes. They also have some
soft drinks. This is another outlet where you can get cakes for treats.

MAGGI
HOTSPOT
It is the right place to try out all the variations in maggie, along with pasta and cold
drinks. They also offer mouth-watering biryani, fried rice and momos, both steamed
and fried. After a long, tough day, grab a quick snack from this outlet and some ice
cream from Amul, located right next to the Maggi Hotspot. The hot chocolate will
soothe your mind's richness. Missed a meal at the mess? Fulfil your hunger here with
the infamous Vegetable Soup Maggi.

SFC BURGER
SHOP
A very recent addition, SFC has quickly carved its place in BITSians' bellies. Located
close to Mess 2, this food outlet has an extremely diverse menu. Apart from the
burgers and fries, this place also serves nuggets, pizzas along with regular special
menus. SFC also stocks up on ice cream from Baskin Robbins and offers homemade
chocolates at their store regularly.

THICK SHAKE
If you are a milkshake lover, then this should be your place to go. They can quench
your craving for milkshakes with some luscious milkshakes. They have a variety of
milkshakes, from oreo to chocolate to strawberry shakes. They also offer brownies and
ice creams.

A GUIDE TO THE MAP:

01 THE ROAD NOT TAKEN:

Why is it not taken? One reason may be that it’s the longest route possible
to any place. Another could be that it’s creepy. Come dusk, you can hear an
extensive frog concert here. It’s hands down the eeriest road you could
take. I don’t mean to scare you juniors even before you’ve come to the
campus, but I could swear my friends and I saw a black silhouette far away
while walking on the road. That combined with flickering lights, it was one
of my most frightening on-campus experiences. Little did I know how fast I
could run till that day. Oh, and did I mention it’s one of snakes’ favourite
haunts?

02 LOVER’S LANE:
Alas, the Road Not Taken has taken the Lover’s Lane’s place. The new hostel
buildings- Valmiki and Vishwakarma have spoiled the isolation that the Lover’s
Lane used to boast. Ironically, taking a walk all alone in the Lover’s Lane is one
of my favourite things to do- trees on either side with leaves and flowers falling
gracefully and no couples, it’s a lovely lane to take a stroll alone.

03 THE ROCK GARDEN:

The Rocks are splendid to just relax with your friends. In the evenings, you can
often see a group of people singing around a guitarist here. The Rocks also
boast having the Falls(which is extremely rarely turned on) and the Lotus Pond.

04
MARINE DRIVE:
The Marine Drive is the first road you see when you enter the campus gates. It’s
called the Marine Drive because (take note firsties, I was asked this question in
an interaction and I didn’t know the answer) of the way it’s shaped.

05 PHILOSOPHER’S STONE:
The Philosopher’s Stone is located on the Marine Drive. You can find the
handprints of the students who started the 2017 fee-hike protest on this stone.

06
CONNAUGHT PLACE:
This is your college-mini-supermarket. It has everything from stationery,
grocery, fast food, printing, laundry and electronics. Be sure to let all your buds
know before you take a visit to CP and they’ll be sure to give a long list of
things to buy for them.

07 VIPER LANE:
No one knows why the Viper Lane is called so. An obvious reason would be
that snakes lurk here, but I have never seen or heard of anyone seeing snakes
here. Some say it’s a tribute to our Snek friends, others say it’s to please the
snake gods.
