Spring Antonym Sort

Standard Correlation: L.K.5. With guidance and support from adults, explore word
relationships and nuances in word meanings.

- Demonstrate understanding of frequently occurring verbs and adjectives by


relating them to their opposites (antonyms).

Materials:
Antonym cards

Directions:

Laminate and cut apart the antonym cards. Have students sort the cards and match the
antonym pairs.

Variations/Extensions:
 Help students create sentences about the antonym pairs.
