As a driver of the COOPI fleet you are representing the organization, your behavior influences the way
the organization is perceived and your statements as well as your conduct can be interpreted as an
expression of COOPI point of view. As part of your duties you are transporting COOPI staff and are
responsible to perform your duties according to COOPI standards in order to guarantee the safety and
security of your passengers.

Act in the spirit of the humanitarian principles of COOPI
Strive to be conscious and aware of possible, even unintended consequences of behavior and take
these into account in their specific behavior, speech and actions.
Any possible gaps in the law are not an excuse for unacceptable behavior.
The use of Coopi logos, identity cards, stickers and or material carrying logos is restricted to project
implementation or security purposes only.
Outside project and/or security purposes all COOPI staff should refrain from unnecessary display of
COOPI identification.
COOPI staff should abide by local, national, and international laws.
In addition to the legal boundaries, COOPI, in the personal behavior of its employees:
Objects against the exploitation of people’s personal (physical, emotional and economic)
vulnerability in the broadest possible sense
Objects against the willful abuse, physical or otherwise, of persons and any conduct which degrades
the human dignity of individuals
Objects against open disrespect of cultural habits and customs
Objects against the abuse of drugs and stimulants (e.g. alcohol)
COOPI requires that Coopi premises and assets be used with a sense of responsibility. Use of those
assets in a manner that may compromise COPPIs credibility or coerce others to act against their will
is not acceptable.
JOB DUTIES:
The rental and COOPI driver will perform duties based on the given schedule or as per the request of the
supervisor.
Transport provision
Provides transport according to the required project/mission activities and needs. Only COOPI
staff are to be transported unless specific instruction has been given by the Manager or HOM
Ensuring the security of passengers and safety of goods
Driving carefully

observing speed limits and traffic rules of the country
respecting COOPI security rules and observe the convoy rules
Carries out daily check the technical conditions of the assigned vehicle (state of the tires, oil, fuel,
brakes, radio equipment, spare parts, etc.),
Is responsible for the presence of all equipment and documents in the vehicle (toolbox, spare tyre,
rescue equipment, discharge of liability, logbook, first aid kit, maps, ...)
Performs weekly checks according to the COOPI Logbook
Ensures that the vehicle is always in good condition following instructions and guidelines of
Logbook and carries out a handover if another driver uses the vehicle
Is responsible for the update of the logbook; records mileage, fuel consumption, servicing,
repairs, accidents, etc
Refills the vehicle when necessary
Keeps the vehicle clean (inside and outside)
Informs supervisor when action or repairs are needed
Assists the mechanic when working on the vehicle
.Documents
Ensures that all vehicle documents and the driver’s driving license are valid and in the vehicle
In case orders have been given to transport non-COOPI staff ensure that they sign disclaimers of
responsibility before using the vehicle
Informs his/her supervisor of any incident involving the transportation of passengers or goods
Security
Undersigned, by signing this document, declares to have read this document and understood its intention,
implications and consequences as to his/her behavior required in COOPI’s projects in Ethiopia.
