Santa Claus: A Living Fairy Tale

Certainly, everybody knows Santa Claus. He is the old goodwill ambassador who has travelled the world
for centuries, bringing people presents during Christmas. Santa doesn’t tell much about the many secrets
of Christmas, but there is something that we can tell you.

Santa Claus has lived far, far away at Korvatunturi in Finland Lapland. There, he has his secret home
and workshops as well as the gift store. About a hundred years ago his secret home was spread to others.
Soon people from near and far travelled there to look for Santa Claus and his home. This of course was
impossible because the way to his secret home was only known by Santa Claus himself, the elves, and
his trusted reindeer.

Korvatunturi is a mysterious place where the elves can listen to the children whether they are being nice
or naughty. The elves listen carefully to everyone’s undertaking and write their observations into the
huge notebooks. Generally, they record only positive observations in the books, but if necessary, they
will also note down unpleasant behavior. Just before Christmas, Santa Claus examines all the comments
in the huge notebooks and carefully chooses delightful gifts for all the kind and good children. However,
Santa Claus can also bring some children brushwood if they have not been good.

Knowing that many people wanted to visit him, Santa Claus did not want to disappoint his friends.
Thus, about a hundred years ago he visited Rovaniemi for the first time to meet his friends. Santa Claus
liked the Capital of Lapland and declared that Rovaniemi would be the meeting place for all the friends
of Santa Claus. From then on, Rovaniemi became the official hometown of Santa Claus and people can
meet him every day at his office.

B. Rex wanted to look for more interesting information about Santa Claus for his brother. He found some
