Vocational scenario
Organization and Role

As a newly appointed change agent/manager in a selected company (either international or local), you are
asked to write a report to the director board about a change plan. In the plan, you review drivers of change
from external and internal sources with comparative analysis about their impact on the organization’s strategies
and operations before coming up with change proposal/plans e.g. organizational culture, reward policy,
organizational structure, strategic alliance …

You are expected to apply appropriate change management theories and models to guide your discussions,
make and justify your analysis and recommendations

Assignment activity and guidance


The submission is a comparative analysis and should include the followings:

(1) An introduction of the contemporary businiess context with a review a range of contemporary
examples of organisational change and their impact on business operations (using 2 examples: digital
transformation, restructuring, product diversification….)

(2) An overview of the selected organization

(3) An analysis to identify external and internal sources of changes and compare how they affect the
organization’s strategies and/or operations, policies, skills according to Burke – Lewin model in short and long
term.

(4) An evaluation of how related drivers of change affect leadership, team, individual behaviors and their
responses to change as well as long term impacts.

(5) Make recommendations with valid justifications for the company in the level of business strategy and
operations to have better response to the identified changes as well as to minimize negative impacts of the
changes on organizational behavior.
