TOPIC 25: Phonetics: /s/, /iz/, /z/

I. Phonetics:
-s, es đọc là /s/, /iz/, /z/
- /s/
Khi từ kết thúc là các phụ âm vô thanh (có hơi ở miệng)
th, p, k, /f/- (f, gh, ph), t (Mẹo nhớ: thời phong kiến fuong tây)
Eg: Maths, stops, cooks, books, roofs, laughs, photographs,
cats, rackets…
- /iz/
Từ kết thúc là ce, ss, ch, x, sh, ge, z
(Chị em song sinh chạy xe sh ge z)
 khi thêm s, es  s, es đọc là /iz/
Eg: dances, faces, misses, watches, boxes, washes, oranges, quizzes…
- /z/ - còn lại
Eg: cars, bags, tables, fills, arrives…

II. Future simple/ The near future –tương lai đơn/ tương lai gần

Future simple –tương lai đơn
Forms:
(+) S + will + Vbare
(-) S + will not/ won’t + Vbare
(?) Will + S + Vbare?
The near future –tương lai gần
Forms:
(+) S + am/is/are + going to Vbare
(-) S + am not/ isn’t/ aren’t going to Vbare.
(?) Is/Are +S + going to Vbare?

-Note: will=’ll
Will not = won’t
Usage:
- Chỉ quyết định tại lúc nói
Eg: Hold on. I will get a pen.
- Chỉ dự đoán không có căn cứ
Eg: I think it will rain.
Usage:
- Chỉ một kế hoạch, dự định, quyết định sẵn
có từ trước (chắc chắn xảy ra hơn tương lai
đơn)
Eg: I have won $1,000. I am going to buy a
new TV.
- Chỉ một lời dự đoán có căn cứ, bằng chứng.
Eg: Look at those dark clouds. It (rain)
is going to rain.

Advs: will V Advs

- in + thời gian: trong … nữa (in 2 - in + thời gian: trong … nữa (in 5 minutes:
minutes: trong 2 phút nữa) trong 5 phút nữa)
– tomorrow: ngày mai - tomorrow: ngày mai
– Next week/ next month/ next year: - Next day: ngày tới
Tuần tới/ tháng tới/ năm tới - Next week/ next month/ next year: Tuần tới/
Trong câu có những động từ chỉ quan tháng tới/ năm tới
điểm như: Kết hợp với các bằng chứng, căn cứ
– S+ think/don’t think/ believe:tin /
suppose:cho rằng/ promise: hứa/ hope/
expect: mong/ be afraid: sợ / fear that: sợ
Eg: I promise I will study harder.
- Maybe/ perhaps/ probably:có lẽ rằng

As soon as-ngay khi/ when/ while/ before/after + S + Vs/es, S + will V
Until-cho tới khi
Eg: As soon as my mom comes home, I will leave your messages.
