This book was written in the year of 2020 in November

and finished in January 2021. This book was written by

a fourteen year old girl. Her name is Tsitsi Chelsea

Runyowa. From all the series, dramas and novels she
read helped her to find her passion in writing books. She
wrote this book to encourage others to see where life can
take us at any time.

Life is a journey not a destination.

This is an interesting story of how the Patel family faced
many challenges of life and how they managed to deal
with them and move on with life.
In life people intend to always smile at you and be by
your side but it does not mean they should be trusted
some can but some cannot. It's hard to find good people
in this world. When you have seen that you found the one
don't throw that one away or neglect time you have with
that person because you never know when you are going
to miss them. Even if you say you are not going to miss
them, you will. That same person you neglected, you
might need them tomorrow and maybe the time you will
need them the most you will not be able to find them
because they will be gone. Do not break somebody's
heart by pretending that you need them, you love them
while you clearly know that they love you too and
knowing that they would do anything for you to make
you happy at all times. It is not about the time they spend
with you or how they laugh with you, it is about the heart
they have. Some can laugh and spend time with you but
with wicked hearts and some with hearts of gold so when

you find the person with a heart of gold do not neglect

them. All that glitters is not gold. Do not throw away
what you have, appreciate it before it is gone forever.

Suhana and her family’s

story
Chapter 1
Once upon a time there lived a girl. This girl
appertained to a lower class family. She had finished her
studies on the Bible and business and she was unable to
look for a job in the urban areas because she did not
have any money to go to the urban areas. This girl's
name was Suhana Patel. She was aged twenty five.

Ever since she lost her father, Suhana’s mother and

grandmother could not be able to handle the pain.
Suhana’s mother kept on begging for food and money in
the streets. Some people would call her names and insult
her without knowing her situation. She would face those
insults because she thought of her family first before her
so she didn't care about other people.

Suhana was disheartened by the fact that she could not

provide for her family. She prayed everyday so that God
will help her through this.

Suhana’s mother managed to raise money so that her

family will be able to eat for the night. One morning
Suhana wanted to go and fetch water from her usual
water spot when her luck suddenly changed. She was

caught by the biggest shock of her life. She had seen her
long time friend who was Halsey Sharma.

The two chatted and Halsey was devastated by her best

friend’s story.

Halsey went with her to her house to chat over a cup of

tea. The two chatted again and Halsey said that she had
owned a company in Delhi. It was called the MD
company and the MD stood for Mother and Daughter

“ Halsey I am so proud of you” she said.

“ wow thank you” she replied.

Suhana felt ecstatic about her friend’s success and

asked whether her friend had a daughter or not. Halsey
said that she would find out when the time comes. Halsey
asked Suhana to be her manager in her company and the
CEO when she dies. She was both really happy and
disheartened by the other statement said by her best
friend. Halsey told Suhana that she would start
tomorrow and get the paper work done today at ten
o'clock in the morning. Her grandmother and mother
wondered where Suhana was, as it is she took a long
time at her usual water spot fetching water. For them it
was unusual. Suhana told her family what had happened
and they were very when she reached home. They felt
felicitous about the news.

~ 2 hours later~

Suhana went to get the paper work done. The two went
to Halsey's favourite cafe to grab a toast to celebrate
their friendship and success. Halsey also gave a contract
that stated that if something was to happen to Halsey,
Suhana will take over the company and that if there was
a relative of Halsey the property would be transferred to
him/her when he or she is eighteen years old. Suhana
hesitated to sign the contract as she thought it could be
like she forced Halsey but Halsey insisted. Suddenly
Halsey told Suhana to stop befriending Svetlana.
Svetlana was also Suhana and Halsey's friend but ever
since Halsey found out her true colours, she was hoping
to tell Suhana but could not tell her because Svetlana
had threatened to kill Suhana if Svetlana was to be
exposed. Suhana was shocked to hear and asked why.
Halsey only said she will be exposed when the time has
come. Suhana was left startled. It seemed as if the Holy
Spirit had descended on Halsey. Suhana did not listen
because she knew that Halsey cared about Suhana and
she thought maybe Halsey had heard rumours. She did
not believe because Svetlana was Suhana's childhood
friend and Halsey came after Svetlana. Svetlana had
stood by Suhana through thick and thin so Suhana's
mind did not budge at all.

Halsey knew that Suhana would not budge so she

decided to keep quiet because she knew that she was
going to receive the justice she deserved.

Halsey knew she was going to die. Perhaps her cancer

had taken a toll of her life. She gave Suhana the contract
because she knew that Suhana would find Halsey's
daughter somewhere and she was the best in handling
things. Halsey's daughter Jannat had ran away from the
house looking for her father because she thought her
mother was lying about her father. Jannat was thirteen
years old back then.

Suhana’s best friend dies

Chapter 2
It was already two o'clock in the afternoon when Suhana
decided that she had to go. Halsey offered a lift and
Suhana accepted. The two were on their way to Suhana's
house when suddenly a truck hit their car. The witnesses
who witnessed the accident called the ambulance. The
ambulance came immediately and the two were taken to
the hospital.
When Halsey was conscious she asked for her friend to
say her last goodbyes because she knew she was going to
bite the dust. Suhana heard everything because she only
fell unconscious because of shock and she was not
injured. Suhana banged the door and talked to her
friend.
“ Halsey are you okay" she said.
“ Su....hana I will miss......you very... much, .....please
take care of the.....business and.....please take care
of........” she replied.
Suhana was devastated and what Halsey wanted to say
was left unknown. Suhana attended Halsey’s funeral
when suddenly she heard the biggest shock of her life. It

turned out that Halsey was not internally injured at all

but what caused the accident was that her eyes started to
not see clearly. She wanted to tell Suhana that she had
stage four blood cancer and that she was dying.
Suhana was hurt by the truth. She never thought that she
would lose her friend so soon while she was planning
something for her after all, they had last seen each other
after 20 years.
Suhana went to Halsey's grave everyday and left turnips
there because turnips were Halsey's favourite flowers.
It was really hard for Suhana to get over the grievous
cessation of Rebecca. She wondered why this had
happened so briskly. She couldn't believe she had to
spent her integral existence without her friend. Every
time she would cry. She would imagine what they were
to do the next day and how the two would spent the
holiday doing. She was in an ivory tower. She
considered Halsey and her to be kith and kin. She
remembered that before Halsey kicked the bucket it
showed that she wanted to tell her about something but
couldn't. Everything was Latin and Greek.
She had to make her friend’s wishes possible. She
decided to go to Delhi where the business was and to say
goodbye to her mother, grandmother and her great
grandmother. It was really hard for her but she knew
everything was going to be alright one day or another.

Chapter 3
Once upon a time, there lived a prayerful woman who
knew that whatever bad thing that would happen God
would always succour her during her rough patch. This
praying woman was called Suhana Patel.

She was the centre of attention because of her

galvanizing speeches about God. Individuals would be
left dumbstruck because the speeches would motivate a
multitude of Christians.

She was a businesswoman and she preached the word of

God but no one knew she was a businesswoman. Her
business was hidden. She acted poor to see how she
would be treated but she was a millionaire.

One day her dreams of keeping up the threads were

short lived as her confidant, Svetlana destroyed her life.
Svetlana took it upon herself to use black magic to

shatter Suhana's dreams because she felt jealous. She

felt jealous because Suhana worked hard to study the
Bible to get where she was and Svetlana was a failure.
She was jobless and was supported by non other than
Suhana.

Suhana was devastated on hearing about her being fired

from her preaching job and every time she would get
humiliated for things she didn't do. Also some who had
the nerve started questioning her character because they
had no shame left in them. Suhana was disheartened.

She went to her house and started crying her eyes out.
She heard a knock on her door and she saw that it was
her so called confidant. She hugged her tightly but didn't
know that her confidant was the cause of her down fall.
Svetlana was happy to see that Suhana was heart
broken. Suhana kept on trusting Svetlana blindly. When
Svetlana finally left Suhana’s house she had a plan in
mind. She had planned to use a spell (black magic) on
the community to poison the community’s minds into
trusting her instead of trusting Suhana. People accused
her of causing Svetlana's failure by spelling her.

After some weeks of crying and locked into her room.

She finally got out of the house. As soon as people saw
her they started to gossip about her and some even
insulted and assaulted her. When Svetlana saw that she
thought it was the right opportunity to get her into
thinking she’s with her. Her plans seemed to be

succeeding. The mayoress said whatever was on her

mind.

“ How can you not be ashamed of yourself . At least you

got a friend who helps you.” She said.

“ uhm.... thank u for your time you listened to me” she

replied.
“ look at her, she is acting as if she cares.” She said.

Svetlana was now showing fake concern for Suhana but

Suhana could not see that Svetlana was a traitor. She
was totally blinded.

After some stressful days, Suhana started to feel very

uncomfortable, but did not care because she knew that if
her mother, grandmother and great grandmother were to
find out they would be devastated. Suhana's mother
called her and asked how she was and how the work was
but she said everything was fine. Her mother knew
something was odd because her voice was low and it
showed that she was crying.

Suhana's mother asked her daughter what was going on

but she said nothing. Suhana's mother convinced her
daughter and her daughter finally gave in. Suhana's
mother was shocked by what Suhana had said.

“ Su what is wrong?” she asked.

“ nothing mother.” She replied.

“ ( worried) you are lying please tell me, I’m there for
you, you are my daughter. What is wrong my dear?” she
asked

“ (crying) Mum.... I have been accused of using black

magic on Svetlana causing her to be a failure now I’m
jobless according to people.”

“ Oh, do not worry my dear.. everything will be alright. I

am going to come there. I think that friend of yours,
Svetlana is the cause of this.”

“ But mum how can you say she......”

“ My dear I know, just in case I am right you should hide

the business from everyone for now"

“ ok mummy, I love you and see you soon.”

“ ok my dear, love you too.”

“ but mum what will you tell grandma and great

grandma.”

“do not worry my dear, I will make an excuse.”

“ ok mom, bye.”

Suhana's mother told her daughter that she was going to

come and her daughter asked what her grandmother
would say. Suhana's mother said that she would handle

the matter and make an excuse and she then cuts the
phone call.

Suhana finally waited for her mother to arrive and she

arrived. Suhana was as happy as a lord that she had
seen her mother after all these years she had left their
village. She hugged her mother tightly. Suhana's mother
told her daughter that everything was going to be ok.

Suhana thanked her mother for coming even though it

was a long journey. Suhana decided to make some food
for her mother. She concocted her mother’s favourite
parathas and pea soup.

The two discussed a lot and laughed together and for the
first time in all those horrible days she smiled and
laughed. The two continued chatting until night fall and
it was finally dinner.

Suhana's mother and her daughter started to prepare

rice, soup and beef as it is there were non-vegetarian
people. After dinner Taylor, Suhana’s mother helped her
daughter to clean the kitchen when suddenly a strange
noise happened. Suhana and her mother went outside to
check but nothing was there.

Chapter 4
In the middle of the night, Suhana woke up to pray as
usual when she suddenly heard a sound from the kitchen
room. She first prayed and went to check out but there
was nothing. She went back to her room to sleep.
When she fell asleep she heard a sound saying be
careful, be careful, be careful. She woke up and fell back
asleep. In her sleep she saw a vision that was showing
that there was something hidden and somebody has to
find out.
The next morning she woke up. She could not understand
what was going on. She told her mother everything but
suddenly out of the blue they completely forgot about

everything from the time she dreamt about the dream.

Perhaps destiny had something planned.
Few hours later when Suhana and her mother finished
eating dinner, Suhana remembered that she had heard a
sound last night. She planned to be awake at all time to
find out what was going on in her house. She did not
want to involve her mother because she was already
worried about what happened in the past. What a caring
daughter.
She waited until nightfall and went outside to get some
fresh air. After a couple of minutes she went into her
house when suddenly she heard the sound. She ran to see
what was going on but found nothing. When she was
about to go to her room she noticed that the food which
she had left in the near the microwave was gone. She
knew something weird was going on. She never gave up.
She kept on trying for twenty nights and for her, enough
was enough. She could not do it anymore she had lost all
hope. One day the sound occurred once again and she
happened to be standing behind the kitchen door. When
she opened, she saw a small child who was wearing torn
clothes. Suhana went to her and asked what her name
was. She answered saying her name was Jannat. She
was such a cute and innocent girl. Suhana asked how old
she was and she said she was fourteen years old. Suhana
asked where she was from and where her parents were.
“ my dear what is your name and where are from?
Where is your family? How old are you?” she asked.

“ my name....is...” she said.

“ you do not need to be scared, tell me" she said.
“ my name is Jannat, I am 14 years old, I am from
Mumbai, I do not have a family.”
Jannat said that she was from Mumbai and her mother
had come with her on a business trip and to meet her
friend, Suhana. Jannat also said her father left her
mother when they were all in need of money but she had
found that when it was too late. Jannat stated that her
mother had a hidden business just in case her family was
in need and any risks. She also said that her mother
found out that her father was tired of poverty and ran
away when Jannat was 7 years old.
Jannat fainted after her statements. Suhana woke up her
mother and said what had happened. Suhana's
neighbour was a doctor and Suhana called her. The
doctor said that she was fine but she was hungry and
that she had not eaten for three days now. Suhana had
some spare clothes for Jannat. Suhana carried Jannat
and gave her a bath and put on the spare clothes .
She went to prepare some food for Jannat when she
heard that Jannat had said something.
“ (dreaming) Mom.....I’m sorry please forgive me.
mom....why did you leave me?” she asked.
“Jannat please wake up, what’s wrong?, wake up please
and eat your food.”

Suhana brought the food and fed her. After she had the
food she said that her mother was Halsey and she died
because of stage four blood cancer. Suhana knew that
Halsey's daughter was Jannat because the statements.
Jannat said that she had left a letter and Jannat gave
Suhana the letter. The letter stated that she had a
daughter and her name was Jannat and that her last
wish was Suhana to take care of her only daughter since
she had nothing left besides her mother. Suhana bursted
in tears after hearing it and hugged Jannat tightly.
“(crying) do not worry, I will take care of you dear.”
She said.
“ (crying) thank you very much, you do not know how
this means to me" she replied.
Jannat started crying and Suhana wiped her tears and
said that she was going to take care of her and
everything was going to be ok.
It was time for bed and Suhana led Jannat to her new
room. In the middle of the night Suhana dreamt when
Suhana came in her dreams wearing white and said that
she was grateful for everything and wished that she
would have a happy life. She woke up and prayed to God
and asked that she would be able to forget the past and
have courage to handle the recent situation about her
career so as to take care of her family.
Suhana was not able to stop her career because it was in
her blood. She was about to go to buy some food, clothes

and things for the prayer she wanted to host when her
mother stopped and said that she wanted to go instead.
Taylor, Suhana's mother said that Suhana should stay
with Jannat and take care of her and keep her company.
The two chatted over a cup of tea and the two got to
know each other quickly. It seems they were destined to
be a family. It was all God's grace that they met.
Suhana's mother finally came with all the things Suhana
needed. Suhana sent the invitation to all the people who
were in the community for the prayer at two o'clock in
the afternoon. She prepared the food and everything that
needed to be done as per the pastor’s instruction.
Jannat helped her new mother to prepare everything
because it was already half past one in the afternoon.
The two prepared everything in a gif with the help of
Taylor.

Svetlana is exposed
Chapter 5
When two o'clock reached only the disadvantaged came
and some few people who still believed that Suhana was
innocent and those people who were among the church
wardens. The prayer started smoothly and all went well
until Suhana heard voices outside saying that she should
stop spreading black magic, she should stop poisoning
people’s minds and that she was giving people Mumbo
Jumbo.
Suhana stood up for herself and asked how they will feel
if they were to be treated in the same manner. Suhana

stated that humans do not have the right to judge and we

should not judge a book by its cover.
The community saw Jannat coming out and asked who
the girl was. Suhana said that Jannat was her daughter.
The community started saying that she must have used
black magic to have Jannat as it is she did not ever have
a husband and she will never have because she is
already thirty and that she had Jannat when she was still
young.
“This woman is spreading blasphemy, she is nothing but
a shameful liar and traitor. See she had a daughter when
she was sixteen. This girl looks fourteen. This is a
shame. What an unlucky woman.” The mayoress said.
“ Enough!! (gives the mayoress a slap) you have said
enough. I did not want to raise a hand at you. Who are
you to judge me like that? Have you taken a good look at
yourself. Jannat is my daughter not yours if you insult
her you have woken up a sleeping lion. Listen all of you,
before I do anything that I might regret get out of
control. Get out!!! (Screaming).” She said.
“ Wait, I have heard enough insults from you mayoress
and kept quiet but not anyone. You are way older than
me and I should respect you but you questioning my
mother's character will make me forget that you are an
elder instead a kid without good manners, please go
away and leave my mother alone ok and if you want to
come back, leave your filthy attitude at your sleazy
home.” Jannat says.

In shame and shock the mayoress and the community

went back to the their houses.
Jannat and her mother went back to the prayer. The
people and Taylor did not go outside because they knew
Suhana and Jannat were going to handle everything.
When they closed their eyes including the pastor.
Suddenly to her surprise, Suhana saw a vision of an
angel coming to her and the angel said that she had
suffered enough and someone out there caused the
destruction of her life. She opened her eyes and was as
speechless as a stone. The priest's eyes opened swiftly.
The priest said that there is a black hearted person who
locks around to destroy Suhana and her family's lives
especially Jannat. Suhana was left dumbstruck and
hugged Jannat. She asked who it was and the priest
answered saying that whoever entered the room followed
by the wind, was the cause of her destruction. Svetlana
entered the room with a face like thunder. She started to
say that she wanted Suhana to step down as the preacher
because people were praising her too much. She said
something against Jannat.
“ You!! Jannat, I did not like your mother at all. She
meddled in my peaceful life. She discovered that I was
nothing but a witch. What a prayerful and smart woman.
I was the one who killed her because I did not trust her. I
knew she was going to expose me soon enough.” She
said.

“ Svetlana, Halsey was your friend and treated you like

her own sister but your ego caught the best of you. How
could you do that. You even killed her. My God in
Heaven will judge you, you shall pay in the name of
Jesus. Mark my words, Sveta (pointing a finger).” She
replied.
“ You think that your words will affect me, well your
wrong (with an evil laugh). I hate you especially that
daughter of yours who isn't even your daughter. Jannat
that property is mine it isn't yours, so please look at me
have Mercy.” She said.
“ Svetlana I might not know you but please drop the act
and leave us alone please.” She replied.
“ It's enough now, I command you to leave, in the name
of Jesus Christ. You are not welcomed here you evil
woman. Holy Ghost fire!!!!! “ the priest replied.
Svetlana wanted to cast black magic but the priest's
power and faith helped him conquer. Perhaps black
magic is both powerful and powerless.
Svetlana’s request was for Suhana to follow her steps,
but she could not say it because she did not get the time
for her life had ended.
Svetlana did not regret what she did at all. Maybe
regretting things was not her cup of tea. The priest said
what he wanted to say before the prayer.

“(sighing) this woman was truly a bull in China shop.

Thank goodness that you are ok because she was
planning something that you all do not know that is why
I immediately did what I did. I cannot tell you because it
is all in the past. Thank God she disappeared and that
she is out of our lives. Let us not keep on talking about
this now, we cannot surely rub the old wounds. Would
we?” the priest said.

“Thank you for everything that you have done for us

priest.” Suhana replied.

“ My pleasure madam. Let us continue with the prayer.”

The priest replied.
Everything went smoothly for everyone and finally the
Patel was happy and wanted to share the good news to
the eldest member of the family, Ava.
A woman came in front of Suhana and said to her that
her job here was done and she needed to leave. The
woman was non other than the woman who was among
the disadvantaged. She just thanked her and kept quiet
because she knew the work.
Suhana was a chip on her shoulder because she thought
about all the memories she had with Svetlana without
knowing her affections were an eye wash. She felt

calamitous because of Svetlana’s mendaciousness but at

least her happiness was back.
After what transpired, she was really hurt and regretted
the day she did not listen to Halsey. She wished that she
could relive the days she had with Halsey and that she
should have never neglected the time she had with her
true best friend.
She got over everything after some span after some
strive. She prayed to God and thanked Him for
everything He had done for her. To show her gratitude
to God she donated some food and clothes to the
orphans on the twenty fifth of December. She was given
blessing after blessing for her exploit.

Suhana regains her

dignity
Chapter 6
After some few days the community were shamed to go to
Suhana's house after finding out that Suhana was
actually innocent and Svetlana was the wolf in the
sheep's clothing and was filled with a mendacious

behaviour. They had realised that Suhana was a blessing

in disguise and she was above board.
They mustered the pluck to ask for forgiveness from
Suhana but they did not go there empty handed. They
came with the greatest gift money can't and that was
giving Suhana to become their preacher again. They got
to land at their destination.
They knocked the door and Suhana opened the door.
Suhana welcomed them with opened arms and made
them feel like they were at home. She gave them food.
They discussed everything and asked for forgiveness.
Suhana accepted the apology but she said that there was
no need for an apologise because they were all under a
spell and did not have any idea of what they were busy
doing.
The community told Suhana that as it is she got her job
back she should start at any time. Suhana told the
community that her actions were not a job but were
responsibilities we were all given by God. She also said
that in the Bible it was stated that God had said people
who are going to Heaven will not in His hands which
mean they were a few. Suhana also said that God had
said bring more people to my church for the ending is
near and is at any time so it is our responsibility.
The community clapped their hands with amazement in
their hearts because her galvanizing speech. Everything
was now back to normal.

Suhana was able to raise money and invited her great

grandmother to stay at her house but did not know she
had to suffer again. She heard the news from her
grandmother’s neighbour that she had snuff it after she
had said she was feeling weak but she left a letter.
Suhana, Suhana's mother and Jannat went to see Ava,
Zara's mother to say their last good byes. They watched
her lifeless body in tears. Zara said something that made
everyone present at the funeral feel sorry.
“ (crying) Mom, why did you leave me alone like this.
We are in tears. Please come back to me mum. Mum!!”
she said.
Zara's family members to her and embraced her saying
that everything was going to be okay one day and that
we should be strong and believe that we can get through
this ordeal.
Everyone including the community was really
heartbroken by what transpired. They never imagined
that Ava would just snuff it from out of the blue but there
was nothing to do to bring her back to life.
Everyone got a chance to say what they wanted to say.
“ My grandmother was truly a nice person, she never
made me feel sad about being poor but she considered us
to be reach because being rich is not about what we
have but it is about what is in the heart. She encouraged
us to stand up for ourselves and to fear the Lord. She
also encouraged us to never give up on our dreams. She

always said that we should never underestimate the

power of faith for it is powerful than performing any
rituals to help in succeeding.”
“ My mother was one of a kind and I will surely say that
nobody had a mom like mine. I really wish I knew when
she was going to die, I would have told how much I love
her very much to the extent of sacrificing my life for her.
I wish I was taken instead of her. Mom wherever you are
just know that we all love you dearly and we will miss
you dearly. “ she said.
“ My great grandmother was a super great
grandmother. Although I do not know her but from my
mother and grandmother behaviour towards me and
others showed me that she was a role model. I will miss
her dearly and I love her unconditionally.” She said.

The family at peace

Chapter 7

Everything were amazed by the galvanizing speech and

they clapped their hands until no more. It was time for
people to bury the body. The grave was decorated
beautifully. Each person put a flower near her grave.
The type of flower which was put there was a rose which
represented love and the red rose was her favourite type
of flower because it represented love.
Everyone wished that her soul would rest in eternal
peace. They sang Gospels because those Gospel songs
were her favourite and helped her relax when she was
stressed out, angry or saddened by something. The
Gospels sang there were especially composed by Sinach.
Sinach's songs are about praising, worshipping the Lord
and encouraging others that God is always there for us.
It was time to go and eat lunch as it is people were so
hungry that the children there were steering at the food
with that kind of eye. The food was served equally and
everyone ate it will a smile on their beautiful faces. The
dishes were washed and people said their last goodbyes.

Jannat's new life

Chapter 8

After the death of her mother Jannat copped with the

passing but always remembered her mother. She now
calls Suhana her mother and Zara her grandmother.
After many years had passed. Halsey's property was
given to Jannat as per Halsey's wish. Jannat grew up
and considered the Patel family as her own family.

~6 years later ~
Time flew so swiftly that Jannat was 19 years old
already. She was managing her late mother’s MD
company with the help of her mother. It was contrived so
well that many investors wanted to invest in the MD
company.
Jannat used her salary to help the disadvantaged so that
they would accomplish their dream just like Jannat did.
All the people in the community adored the Patel family.
Jannat always thought about others before her. She was
as happy as a lark that where ever her late mother was
she felt blithesome about her baby girl, Jannat.
On her 20th birthday, Jannat’s mother, Suhana brought
Jannat the gift money can't by. Suhana gave her
daughter a image of Halsey and Jannat which had a
letter at the back of the picture. The epistle averred “ My
daughter I know you are going to miss me dearly and I
will too but there is nothing I was able to do because my
time was almost up. Suhana will be your mother now. I
know I wasn't able to say goodbye to you face to face but

the life you deserve Your loving mother". Jannat bursted
into tears and embraced Suhana for the boon she was
given. She showed gratitude. She never pretermitted that
day. Her day was memorable.
There came a day when she came across a man who was
imploring for a home to stay in. This man knew that
Jannat would notice him and agree to his desire. For
him it was a piece of cake. Jannat took him to her house
out of sympathy. This man was Jannat’s father but
Jannat did not have a clue. She was in the dark. His
name was Usher.

Chapter 9

Zara went to Usher to leave some water for him when he

saw it was actually Jannat's father. Zara knew it was
Jannat's father because they started knowing each other
when Jannat was little. They last saw each other when
Jannat was six years old. Soon after seeing Usher, Zara
lost her grip on the glass of water she had in her hands.
The servants of the house, Suhana and Jannat ran to see
what had transpired. What they saw made them as
speechless as a stone. One of the handmaid went to fetch
the equipment to clean the mess. Suhana asked what
was wrong.
“ mum, what happened that made you drop the glass?”
she asked.
“ it's nothing. It just slipped out of my hands
accidentally.” She replied.
“ oh mom, almost forgot, this man is Usher. He was
desperately looking for a house so I helped him so that
when he finds a job he will look for a place but for now
he will be staying here.” She said.
“That is my daughter. It's ok sweetheart. I am glad that
you know that we should help those in need because God
will be happy.” She replied.
“thank you mummy.” She said.
Dinner time came and food was served on the table as
usual. They all ate and enjoyed the mouth watering dish

prepared by the maids with the help of Jannat and her

mother, Suhana.
Dishes were washed, the table was cleaned, the rooms
were cleaned and everything was left sparkling clean.
Before everyone went to sleep, Usher asked to talk to
Zara while everyone was not there.
“Excuse me, can I please talk to you in private.” He
asked.
“ok, but why did you come back now after all this
disappearance for many years. You left your daughter
and wife behind for money. Halsey was never poor she
was rich and she signed a contract which stated that the
property will belong to Suhana when she dies and
Suhana did not know about it and she then made a
contract that stated that she can transfer the property to
her daughter but she lied about. Suhana thought that
what Halsey told her was the truth.” She said.
“How did you know that, I mean I am shocked.” He
said.
“Even though I was poor, I had my ways of knowing the
hidden truth.”
“ well, I wanted to say that Halsey never had a daughter
at all and I am her step father and Halsey is her
stepmother. We adapted her. Her birth mother is
actually your daughter, Suhana.”

“ I found that out recently and I wanted to tell her soon

but you called me.”
“ When Suhana was at university when she got pregnant
through the injustice which was done to her. She hid her
pregnancy and luckily when it started showing she was
done with school and she went and stayed with my sister,
Emma until nine months. She gave birth to Jannat, after
giving birth some of her memories varnished including
when she got pregnant and gave birth. It was now up to
Emma and I to find what we can do. We took the
responsibility to take care of Jannat and she grew up
knowing that Halsey and I were her parents. You
remember coming to you to drop her at your place. What
shocked us is that she did not ask any question.” He
said.
“(sighing) what a disaster, how will she cop with that
piece of the story now. All I knew was that Jannat was
Suhana's daughter but I did not know how it happened.”
She said.
“So Jannat is my daughter, I now remember what
happened after all this time, I didn't know. I have to tell
her.” She said.

Chapter 10
The moment Suhana looks back to go and run to tell
Jannat that was her daughter, she sees that Jannat heard
everything and she quickly hugs her mother and Suhana
also hugs her daughter tightly and in tears of joy.
Jannat told her mother everything she knew
“ I knew you were my mother and my mom told me
everything that had happened when I was little and she
even showed me your picture. When I was still fourteen I
did not want to tell you because I thought it could
threaten your health. I wanted you to take me in.” She
said.
“ I wondered what Halsey wanted to tell me before she
died but did not have the courage to do so because of my
health. She was really a true best friend. I felt a deep
connection between you and I but I was unable to figure
out why and I just came to a conclusion that maybe it
was because I loved you like my own daughter not
knowing that you were actually my long lost daughter. I
am really sorry I was not there for you for fourteen years
old.” She said.
“It's okay mom it was not anybody's fault. The
circumstances determined everything. Don't cry.” She
replied.

Everybody reconciled and Usher was not able to find a

job so he was appointed as a editor because the MD
company was about writing of novels and plays Jannat,
Suhana and Halsey had a passion in writing novels and
plays. They were considered to have the best company in
town out of five companies between Delhi and Mumbai.
Perhaps they read William Shakespeare’s plays.
Happiness struck them unknowingly after all these years
of agony and humiliation without any break. Life was
hard for them that everybody in the community learnt
that life was a journey not a destination.

door
Chapter 11
One day, something started to change so slightly that
nobody had the slightest idea of the change. Everybody
had their own problems to handle.
Usher was not able to appreciate the salary he was
receiving as he thought that the salary was not for an
editor but a janitor.
When he got the job, he thought he was going to get
promotion because he was well known by the Patel
family but he did not know that the MD company was not
about who you knew but it was about what you knew and
your skills. He was too stingy and stubborn to
understand that.
The Patel family were planning to give him a fifty
percent raise. His salary was one thousand five hundred.
He was given that kind of salary because of his progress
and skilled. He did not have a degree because he did not
finish his studies.
He was called to the CEO's office to get the paper work
done so that he would get the salary increase. He
appreciated it. It seemed so but it was not the case at all.

Usher's intentions were not as good as they seemed but

were mendacious. He was patient to think of a plan for
him to benefit. It was a piece of cake because according
to him, time was on his side and he was in the Patel's
good books.
Usher was planning to rob the Patel family to leave them
with nothing not even a single penny. What a fallacious
man he is. The Patels trusted him blindly without even
doubting him once. Not even a little bit. Seeing the views
of the situation it was not their fault because no sleazy
plan was made into action yet.
Everything was going smoothly and everybody was
happy until Usher thought it was the right time for the
trouble to begin its work.
The next day he made his first move was to find
somebody who was as greedy as him to be in croutes
with. He met that person. That person was non other
than Zara, Suhana's mother. What a shocking twist in the
tale.
“well. I did not know it was going to be a piece of cake
in finding a greedy person like me. I thought It was
tough nut to crack.” He said.
“ Don't act smart with me, I wanted this property from
the day it was transferred to my daughter then to my
granddaughter but it was hard for me.” She said.
“It is not why I'm here because I'm good at this. I'm thee
great Usher Sharma.” He replied.

“ Enough with the over confidence in you it's time for

action not time. So what is the next plan?” she asked.
“ Well, tomorrow is the festival of colours, right? We
have to give bung to Suhana and Jannat to keep them
busy from doing their work. It will be the right
opportunity to go to Jannat's office to search for the
property papers. Now how is my plan zee?” he asked.
“Wow!! It's superb. In that way they will be busy
enjoying holi and that bung they will drank with catch
the best of them to the extent of not checking the office as
usual. But how on earth did you think of that plan?” she
asked
“well I'm a mastermind.” He said.
“ wait a minute, but how do you know that the property
papers are kept at my granddaughter and daughter's
office?” she asked.

“That is a good question though, well despite being old

your mind is still alive. I think you should stay here.” He
said.
“ I have plan, Jannat has a safe in the wall at the side
where her bed is. Before any occasion she usually comes
to her bedroom and checks whether her papers in the
safe are in place. So we have to apply that liquid that
makes us see which buttons were previously pressed

when torched. Leave that to me to make the job easier.”

She said.
“ oh I have the liquid right now. Here you go.” he said.
They put their plan to action.

Zara, the master mind

Chapter 12
Zara and Usher put their plan in action and after the
liquid was applied that was when Jannat went to check
her safe. That liquid was just water but Usher was too
foolish to understand that.
Holi came and Usher went to check for the papers in the
office while Zara was busy relaxed enjoying Holi with
her family. Do you want to know why? Well keep on
reading the novel to know the twist.
When Zara was informed that Usher was on his way
back, she made sure that Suhana and Jannat drank the
bung but her intentions were not as bad as they seemed.
She made sure that the plan was working smoothly.
Perhaps nobody knew whose side Zara was on because
nobody the story except for the two.
Usher came back from the office and told Zara that he
could not find anything. Zara then gave Usher the fake

property papers she had because she knew from the

beginning that Usher was up to no good at all.
Filled with happiness Usher grabbed the papers.
“wow thank you for the papers.” He said.
“ Well it's my pleasure. The papers state that we are
sharing fifty percent me and fifty percent you. So sign the
papers. Suhana and Jannat signed the papers as you can
see.” She said.
“ yeah. We will do the rest when the time is right.” He
said.
Zara knew that if the fake paper will be written that he
was going to be given hundred percent, he would be
suspicious as to why Zara did not take a share of the
property.
Usher did not realise that there were cameras inserted in
the office where he thought the papers were kept. It was
all Zara's plan so that they will have proof against. Zara
knew that when Usher goes to his room he is going to
talk to himself about the success of getting the property
making him confess everything so she left a hidden
camera in his room as proof against him.
Zara told Suhana and Jannat everything and they were
shocked. They both went to the police station and
reported him. When the three and the police came back
they found Usher trying to change everything in the
house because he thought he owned it.

Everything was explained to him and he was both as

speechless as a stone and as angry as a wasp because he
was joshed by Zara. He promised to get revenge but he
did not get the opportunity. He got arrested and the next
day he went to court and was sentenced life in jail.
Fate made the Patel family take a journey to life and
showed them how life was. From sorrow to happiness.
Two years later Jannat tied the knot with her childhood
friend and they soon had a two twins who were named
Mercy and Blessing.
