“The Cruel Reality of Chickens”

In a video I viewed, Josh Stoney Ridge, a farmer, shows the process of chicken evisceration and how
their chickens are respectfully treated and appropriately fostered on their farm. Chickens are one of our
most important food sources, which is why they are subjected to the horrible reality of being butchered.
This essay will reveal my thoughts and insights on poultry evisceration and chicken meat processing.

The procedure began with a live chicken being taken from the field and placed on the "killing cones" so
that its head could be easily chopped off. The chicken was then placed in a scalder pot with hot water
for a few minutes before being placed in a plucker, which involved using a water hose to rinse the
feathers down to ensure the chicken was cleanly plucked. After that, they demonstrated how to dissect
the chicken using a technique that allowed them to remove the animal's intestinal guts with ease. They
completed the process by firmly wrapping the chicken after briefly soaking it in warm water and then
sealing it with a zip tie, indicating that it is now ready to be frozen. It was unpleasant and unsettling to
watch the video of him processing the chicken. I'm aware that it's intended for human consumption.
However, it made me feel sorry for all the animals who are slaughtered every day for human use. It also
helped me to understand why some people choose to be vegan or dedicate their lives to protesting
animal rights.

To sum it up, we are reliant on animals for food, which would necessitate their death. It is, nonetheless,
crucial for our survival as humans. The video is about food responsibility, according to the farmer, Josh.
It's all about appreciating the value of life and the food you consume. That's probably why he's trying to
teach us about how to properly process chickens and how to handle animals. Because of rising global
demand for chicken as a result of economic and population growth, the poultry processing industry has
become one of agriculture's most successful sectors.
