Introduction
Accurately measuring a learnerʼs potential and progress can transform learning and help you make informed decisions about
individual students, their educational needs and where to focus your teaching efforts.

Many schools use Cambridge Checkpoint to monitor individual and group performance at the end of the primary programme.
The data in this report will help you to measure your learnersʼ skills and understanding in English as a first or second language,
Mathematics and Science, depending on which subjects you have entered your candidates. You can see how your learners have
performed individually, in comparison to the rest of their class and against an International average.

About International averages

We include International average scores to help you understand how your learners performed in comparison to the international
cohort in this series. We calculate International average scores from learner scores achieved by the whole cohort of entries in a
subject for this series.

We take steps to maintain the standard of Cambridge Checkpoint tests from one series to another. However, International average
scores may vary if there are significant changes in the entry profile of the whole cohort across different test series. This is because
the learners taking the tests in each test series are of different abilities.

Statements of Achievement
We have also included a Statement of Achievement at the end of this report for each individual learner. To help you recognise
learnersʼ hard work and achievement, we also print and post hard copies of the statements in addition to providing the digital
versions you can find at the end of this report.

Understanding Cambridge Checkpoint scores

Scores on the Cambridge Checkpoint scale are from 0.0 to 6.0 (the highest level of achievement). The scale descriptions below are
indicative as learners may show different levels of achievement in different aspects, particularly at the margins of the scale.

A score of 5.0 or more

Learners attaining a score of 5.0 or more have generally shown an excellent level of achievement. They have demonstrated a
comprehensive and secure level of understanding, knowledge and skills of the curriculum content, and should be well prepared
for the next stage of learning.

A score between 3.0 and 4.9

Learners attaining between 3.0 and 4.9 have generally shown a good level of achievement. They have demonstrated a secure level
of understanding, knowledge and skills of most of the curriculum content, but would benefit from a focus on the specific areas of
the curriculum they found challenging.

A score of less than 3.0

Learners attaining less than 3.0 have generally shown a limited level of achievement. Whilst demonstrating a basic level of
understanding, knowledge and skills of the curriculum content, they would benefit from a focus on all areas of the curriculum
they found challenging.

Absent or missing components

Where a script is missing, we are unable to produce a Cambridge Checkpoint score as our reporting processes do not support
this. The results issued to a centre will not include any learners who have missed a component.

Enquiries about results

Cambridge Checkpoint is not a formal qualification. It is not certificated and we do not offer an ʻEnquiries about resultsʼ service.

AQABA INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL: Cambridge Lower Secondary

overview
In the graphs below you will see the average Cambridge Checkpoint scores for the subjects your school has made entries for. To
calculate the scores, we include all learners from your school who submitted a complete assessment. The International average
indicator will provide you with an understanding of how your school has performed against the international average, which
considers all learners within the series. Alongside the subject average, you will find the strand averages for the learners in your
school.
