GENERAL RULES TO FORM QUESTION
TAGS

1 We always need a STATEMENT first, that is, a


POSITIVE OR A NEGATIVE SENTENCE.
It’s cold, isn’t it?
You dislike fish, don’t you?
Is it right, isn’t it?

2 POSITIVE STATEMENT → NEGATIVE TAG
You are hungry, aren’t you?

NEGATIVE STATEMENT→ POSITIVE TAG

a) BE (am/is/are) → BE (am/is/are)
These chillies are really spicy, aren’t they?

This film isn’t very good, is it?

Present Perfect tense)
