APPOINTMENT OF HAZARDOUS CHEMICAL SUBSTANCES INSPECTOR IN

TERMS OF THE HCS REGULATION OF THE OHS ACT 85/1993

The Occupational Health & Safety Act 85/1993 (HAZ Chemical Substances Regs.) requires
that:

Every Employer must assess the environment in which his employees work and ensure that
all reasonable precautions are taken to prevent exposure to hazardous chemical substances
in the workplace or if this is not possible to minimize exposure to below acceptable levels.
Material Safety Data Sheets for all hazardous chemical substances used must also be
available on site. Employees must be made aware of the dangers as well as what
precautions must be taken.
