2) What was Mr. Hamel’s advice to Franz? Whom did he blame for the loss of learning French?

II. Extended writing –

Write a paragraph of about 80 to 100 words on: ‘Mother tongue is the language of one’s thoughts and ideas’
and rejecting one’s mother tongue is denying one’s own culture and identity. Explain this with references from
the text based on the feelings of Franz, Mr. Hamel and the people.
