IRCON TEMPERATURE SENSOR

for 8000 MicroBric Systems

IRCON TEMPERATURE SENSOR

This addendum describes the 8000 MicroBric setup procedure for an Ircon temperature sensor.

The Ircon temperature sensor has a measurement range of 0 – 500 °F. It provides a 1 – 5 V output
to the 8000 MicroBric. For detailed information on the Ircon temperature sensor, please refer to
the Ircon temperature sensor manual.

SETUP PROCEDURE

The Ircon temperature sensor is set up as an Analog gauge on the 8000 MicroBric.

1. Bring up the ANALOG GAGE SET-UP screen (Figure 1):

SET-UP > GAGE MENU > ANALOG GAGE

2. Enter the following initial values for SCALE and OFFSET:

SCALE: 125

OFFSET: -125

3. Touch the DISPLAY button on the top right corner.

The Raw V. and Scaled values will be displayed, and the DISPLAY button will be replaced
by a REFRESH button. Touching the REFRESH button will update the Raw V. and Scaled
values.

Raw V. is the input voltage from the Ircon temperature sensor (range: 1 – 5 V).

Scaled is the Raw V. value compensated by the SCALE and OFFSET values as follows:

Scaled = (Raw V. x SCALE) + OFFSET

Example

SCALE = 125

OFFSET = -125

Raw V. = 1.576

Scaled = (Raw V. x SCALE) + OFFSET

= (1.576 x 125) – 125

= 72

4. Adjust the SCALE and OFFSET values.

5. Touch the REFRESH button to view the effect on the Scaled value.

6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 as needed.
