The entry requirement for the above programmes are as follows:
At least Credits in Core At least Credits in Electives

NOTE:
1. Only Geomatics Engineering applicants can substitute Chemistry with Geography
2. Applicants to BSc Land Administration and Information Systems should have Credits in
three Business, General Arts and Science Electives in addition to the above Core

E. Faculty of Computing and Mathematical Sciences


(Mathematics and Statistical Data Science Applicants)
The entry requirement for the above programmes are as follows:
At least Credits in Core At least Credits in Elective Mathematics and

Computer Studies or Applied Electricity.

F. Faculty of Integrated Management Science

Mature Applicants
Applicants should be at least 25 years of age and should have SSSC/ WASSC or GCE O’ Level
Certificate with credits in five subjects including English Language, Mathematics and a science
subject with experience in the relevant area of study. Applicants must pass a written examination
and /or an interview. Mature applicants must also possess birth certificates which are, at least, five
(5) years old after the date of issue.

II. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR DIPLOMA (Dip.) PROGRAMMES

Diploma in General Drilling (Fee paying Programme)

An applicant must satisfy any of the following:


I. SSCE Holders: Six Passes (A-D) in all subjects which are English Language, Mathematics,
Integrated Science, Physics, Elective Mathematics, Chemistry or Metal Work or Technical
Drawing or Applied Electricity or Applied Electronics.
II. WASSCE Holders:
a. Passes (A1-D7) in English Language, Mathematics, and Integrated Science.
b. Must possess a minimum of C6 in the following subjects: Physics, Elective Mathematics,
Chemistry or Metal Work or Technical Drawing or Applied Electricity or Applied Electronics.
III. General Certificate of Education (GCE) Ordinary Level credits in five (5) subjects
including English language, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics; and General Certificate of
Education (GCE) Advanced Level passes in Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics.

IV. GCE Ordinary Level Certificate with credits or SSCE with Passes in five subjects including
English Language and Mathematics plus experience in the relevant area of study.
V. City and Guilds of London Institute Part III Certificate or its equivalent in either
Mechanical, Automobile, or Electrical Engineering.
VI. Holders of Certificate of Proficiency in General Drilling (one-year course) from University
of Mines and Technology, Tarkwa or a recognized institution are eligible.
VII. Foreign applicants with equivalent certificates and grades are eligible.
VIII. Mature Applicants
Applicants should be at least 25 years of age and should have SSSC/ WASSC or GCE O’
Level Certificate with credits in five subjects including English Language, Mathematics and a
science subject with experience in the relevant area of study. Applicants must pass a written
examination and /or an interview. Mature applicants must also possess birth certificates which

12. Certificate in Plant and Maintenance
13. Certificate in Geotechnical Technology
14. Certificate in Metalsmithing and Jewelry Technology
15. Certificate in French
16. Certificate in Small Scale Mine and Quarry Administration
17. Certificate in Drilling Fluids Technology
18. Certificate in Oil Well Cementing Technology
19. Certificate in Natural Gas Technology
20. Certificate in Reservoir Management

The entry requirement for the above programmes are as follows:


I. Applicants with SSS Certificate
Five passes (A-E) in all subjects including English Language, Mathematics and Integrated
Science.
II. Applicants with WASSCE Certificate

Five passes (A-E8) in all subjects including English Language, Mathematics and Integrated
Science.
III. Applicants with Ordinary Level Certificate
Candidates must have FIVE passes in all subjects of GCE O Level including English Language,
Mathematics and Science.
IV. Other Applicants
Candidates should be at least 20 years of age and should have any of the following: Diploma in
Business Studies (DBS), Middle School Leaving Certificate (MSLC), National Vocational and
Technical Institute (NVTI) Certificate, Technician Part I or II Certificate, Basic Education
Certificate (BEC) or its equivalent. In addition, the candidate must pass an interview conducted
at the Department.
