USB (Universal Serial Bus) is a common interface used for connecting devices to a computer.

It
allows for fast data transfer and power supply to devices. When using USB, it is important to
understand the pin assignments in order to properly connect and use your devices.

USB Connector Types

There are several types of USB connectors, including Type-A, Type-B, Mini-USB, and Micro-USB.
Each type has a different pin assignment, but they all follow the same basic principles.

USB Pin Assignments

USB connectors have four pins: VCC, D+, D-, and GND. VCC (5V) is the power supply pin, while
D+ and D- are the data pins used for data transfer. GND is the ground pin, used for completing the
circuit.

For Type-A and Type-B connectors, the pin assignments are as follows:

Pin 1: VCC
Pin 2: D-
Pin 3: D+
Pin 4: GND

For Mini-USB and Micro-USB connectors, the pin assignments are slightly different:

Pin 1: VCC
Pin 2: D-
Pin 3: D+
Pin 4: ID
Pin 5: GND

The ID pin is used for identifying the type of device connected and is not present in Type-A and
Type-B connectors.

purpose and function of the "ID" pin included in the header. I decided to leave the pin floating and
try to bodge a solution in case it went wrong. A simple USB charger should incorporate 200 Ohm
resistor between D+ and D- wires (sometimes shortcircuit D+ and D- together is enough). The device
will then not attempt to transmit or receive data, but can draw up to 1.8A, if the supply can provide
it. USB 3.0 also introduced a new Micro-B cable plug, which consists of a standard USB 1.x/2.0
Micro-B cable plug, with additional 5-pin plug stacked on side of it. That way, USB 3.0 Micro-A
host connector preserved its backward compatibility with the USB 1.x/2.0 Micro-B cable plugs.
However, it is not possible to plug a USB 3.0 Micro-B plug into a USB 2.0 Micro-B receptacle, due
to a physically larger connector. USB is a serial bus. It uses 4 shielded wires: two for power (+5v &
GND) and two for differential data signals (labelled as D+ and D- in pinout). NRZI (Non Return to
Zero Invert) encoding scheme used to send data with a sync field to synchronise the host and
receiver clocks. In USB data cable Data+ and Data- signals are transmitted on a twisted pair. No
termination needed. Half-duplex differential signaling helps to combat the effects of electromagnetic
noise on longer lines. Contrary to popular belief, D+ and D- operate together; they are not separate
simplex connections. USB 2.0 provides for a maximum cable length of 5 meters for devices running
at Hi Speed. Older Post USB 3.0 is the successor of USB 2.0. USB 3 reduces the time required for
data transmission, reduces power consumption, and is backward compatible with USB 2.0 Andrzej

on the application, you might have to change that. For example, ESP8266, ESP32 chips work only
on a 3.3v voltage level, and anything higher than that value might destroy the IC, so you have to set
the voltage level to 3.3v. To do that, you have to toggle the given jumper to a 3.3v pin. Save my
