THE CAÑAN

Aim:

Hello, my name is Yordan Castillo Torres, with my partner Joaquín Noblecilla

Avila, on this occasion we will talk about an animal that is already being
hunted hard by people in the area and the surrounding area, being a reptile,
the Cañan, this animal lives in the area of Virú (province) in the La Libertad
region, is similar to a lizard, the difference is that they live where there is a
carob tree, this is a plant that grows in this area. Why is this in danger? What
are the causes and consequences?

Habitat: First let’s see its habitat, this plant or tree is one that many use for
firewood, for sculpture of some decorative objects, for which it is usually cut
down a lot, and little by little it is disappearing, one last property of it is that
They also extract carob, a sweet element for some desserts. This is another
reason.
The animal: As the habitat is in decline, the animal also has risks, since in the
area it is a delicious dish, and due to the scarcity of Cañan the cost increases,
and as it increases, it attracts more people to its home and earn further .

Causes: the cost of the animal for the dish, attracts the attention of hunting, in
addition to the benefits of the Algarrobo, which crucially affect the existence
of the Cañan, having less probability of remaining alive. Consequences: the
total extraction of the canes, the loss of biodiversity, and damage to the viru
ecosystem. Let us remember that freedom in coastal areas is mostly warm,
therefore there is less biodiversity in the area.
