this was some time ago as I wanted to make my RM 250 T a 6 speed trans
and found that the PE cases are a little wider than the RM to accommodate the extra
space.

Yes the RM gear box does fit into PE cases, but there is a pitfall; they are soft
in their
hardening tends to wear out leaving pit marks on drive side.

I�m in the shed this arvo and will take picks of both gear set�s so you can compare
with each other

Sorry Boys I was talking about a PE 250 T/X transmission versus Rm 250 N/T.
1977 PE trans I�m not too sure about, but I have a RM 250 1977 and the trans
is the same as a 78-79-80 years

Here are comparisons showing the length of shaft and gears; drive is on LHS -
clutch to RHS.
