that they are in.
Social Factors- People shift their language depending on a variety of social factors
Physical Factors- The distance between speakers or the presence of a crowd.
Chronological Factor- something to do with time, day, year, or a certain point in
week , or season.
 Patrick Montana and Bruce Chamov (2008) – Corporate culture is the total
sum of the values, customs, traditions and meanings that make a company
unique
 William Pfeifers (2013) – Writing or academic writing is to generate new
knowledge in a particular academic branch, the purpose of professional
communication is to get something done with- or within an organization.
 We need to be more knowledgeable about of our subject than the intended
reader or audience of our academic report

 Grammar
 Critical Thinking
Pfeiffer (2013) – For professional writing, what matters more is the “clear and
simple organization of ideas in a format that meets the needs of busy readers”.
Locker and Kienzler (2013) – Further illustrate the stylistic approach
Conversational Style
 Used in speech and informal writing
 Used simple words, slang expressions, and contradictions
 Incomplete sentences may be used.
Traditional Style
 It features many abstract, academic , or technical terms and few or no
contradictions.
 There is no effort to make this style friendly
 Sentences and paragraphs tend to be long in this styles.
