OPENING CEREMONY
REGISTRATION:

Good morning, everyone! Please check the tables at this side, for the registration of your
attendance. Our program will start in a few minutes. Please find yourself a comfortable place.

CALL TO ORDER:

Once again, good morning, ladies, and gentlemen! We are about to begin our Opening
Ceremony, so please find a seat and make yourself comfortable. Thank you.

PROGRAM PROPER:

Honorable guests, teacher-coaches, parents, our young journalists, ladies, and gentlemen,
welcome to the 2023 DISTRICT SCHOOLS PRESS CONFERENCE in Elementary and Secondary in
English and Filipino Events.

NATIONAL ANTHEM AND INVOCATION:

To officially start our program, may we request everyone to please stand for the singing of the
Philippine National Anthem and our Invocation to be given to us through Audio-Visual
Presentations.

You may now be seated.

Journalism without truth is like having a fish with no water. I’m Chinn Rabanes Legaspi, your
host for today. We, the Cabalantian National High School Faculty and Staff, are delighted to
welcome every delegate to our school and extend the warmest welcome to those who have
travelled from distance. It is indeed a pleasure to have you all today.

To unite us with his words of welcome, allow me to call on stage our very own engaging and
proactive School Head, ladies and gentlemen, Mr. ALFREDO O. INOTAO, JR. HT-V.
Let’s give him a big hand!

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:

According to Bill Wheeler, “Good writing is clear thinking made visible”. This time, we are
going to hear the statement of purpose. May we call on Mr. MHERLYN D. AGLUBA, HT-III and
our zealous District Focal Person. A warm of applause please.

INSPIRATIONAL MESSAGE:

At this point, it’s time to hear some words of wisdom from our decisive and visionary Public
Schools District Supervisor, in his excellency, Mr. RIC D. GABE. Let’s give him a resonating
applause!

MESSAGE AND DECLARATION OF FORMAL OPENING:

At this juncture, may we request our Barangay Captain, Hon. TERESITO C. MUTYA, JR. for his
message and the declaration of formal opening. A warm round of applause please.

READING OF CRITERIA:

The reading of criteria shall now follow. May we call on Mrs. MARY ANN C. ANTIOLA, T-III and
one of our empowering Program Management Team Leaders as well. Let’s give her a big hand!

INTRODUCTION OF JUDGES:

So, we are now down to the last part of our opening program. May we call on our very own
versatile School Journalism Coordinator, Mrs. MELITA T. SUGANO, T-II for the introduction of
judges. A thundering applause please!

Journalism is a great way to serve society, to have an impact on one’s community, to wake the
public up, and to serve a higher purpose.

That concludes our opening ceremony of this year’s District Schools Press Conference, to our
young journalists, break a leg and wishing you all the best! You may now proceed to your room
assignments.

coaches, our young journalists, ladies and gentlemen, good afternoon! Welcome to the
awarding ceremony of this year’s District Schools Press Conference.

I believe everyone’s excited to know who will triumphantly bring home the bacon. But before
that, allow me to sincerely acknowledge and thank the following for their valuable contribution
in making this event possible:

Now, let’s proceed to the awarding of certificate of participation. We would like to request any

Once again, congratulations to all our winners! Let us all give them once more a big round of
applause. Congratulations also to our other participants, don’t feel bad if you didn’t win today,
remember that “In life, winning and losing will both happen. What is never acceptable is
quitting.” That is a quote from Magic Johnson. (Never quit, instead just keep on fighting).

Our deepest gratitude to all the members of the Technical Working Team, the English and
Filipino teachers, distinguished speakers, teacher coacher, parents and of course to all the
young media enthusiasts and journalists of this year’s DSPC.
