Go Youn-jung (Korean: 고윤정; born on April 22, 1996) is a South Korean actress and
model.[1] She made her acting debut in the television series He Is Psychometric (2019)
and gained recognition for her supporting role in the Netflix production Sweet
Home (2020). She is also known for her work in the series Law School (2021), Alchemy
of Souls (2022–2023), Moving (2023) and Death's Game (2023–2024), as well the
film Hunt (2022).[2][3][4][5][6][7][8]
Early life[edit]
Go was born on April 22, 1996, in Seoul, South Korea.[9] Go attended Seoul Women's
University where she studied contemporary art.[10]

Career beginnings[edit]
After Go Yoon-jung graduated from Seoul Women's University, she joined MAA
Entertainment as a model and actress. She first did modeling for various commercials of
Sports, Nike, Giorgio Armani, Ritz Crackers and several commercials for KT.[11]
2019–2021: Acting debut[edit]
In 2019, after expressing interest and talent in acting, Go Yoon-jung made her acting
debut in the television series He Is Psychometric, playing Kim So-hyun.[12]
In 2020, she made a highly praised cameo in the Korean Netflix television series The
School Nurse Files, and in the same year, she appeared in the smash hit Netflix
television series Sweet Home as Park Yu-ri, a sad caretaker with a tragic past. This role
led to additional praise and acknowledgement.[13][14][15]
In 2021, she starred as Jeon Yeseul in Law School and earned acknowledgment for her
portrayal of a law student suffering from dating violence.[16]

In March 2021, Go was cast in her first film,[17] a South Korean espionage action
thriller film titled Hunt. The film was by Lee Jung-jae in his feature directorial debut,
starring Lee and Jung Woo-sung.[18] In April, it was reported that Go would also be
making a special appearance in tvN period fantasy series Alchemy of Souls.[19] In June
2021, there were discussions about Go being cast in the adaptation of Kang Full's
webtoon Moving.[20] Later, news coverage indicated that Moving completed the casting of
and began filming on August 23.[21] On October 29, Disney+ revealed the cast and
reading site for the original series Moving, directed by Park In-je, the director
of Kingdom Season 2.[22] On the same day, Go's appearance in the series was
confirmed.[23]
2022–present: Breakthrough roles[edit]
In 2022, Go officially made her film debut in the action thriller Hunt.[24] The movie had its
premiere at 75th Cannes Film Festival on May 19, 2022, at the Lumière Theater, as part
of the non-competitive Midnight Screening category, where it received a seven-minute
standing ovation.[25] It was subsequently released theatrically on August 10, 2022, in
South Korea.[26] Go's performance garnered critical acclaim, leading to her being
nominated for Best New Actress at prestigious award ceremonies such as 31st Buil Film
Awards, 58th Grand Bell Awards, 43rd Blue Dragon Film Awards, and 59th Baeksang
Arts Awards.[27][28][29][30]
In June 2022, Go's brief appearance as skilled assassin Nak-su in Part 1 of tvN period
fantasy series Alchemy of Souls was broadcast. In December 2022, she returned as the
female lead in the Part 2 of the series – Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow. In this
installment, she portrayed the character of an amnesiac priestess named Jin Bu-yeon,
starring alongside Lee Jae-wook.[31][32][33]
For her performance in Hunt and Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow, industry players
took note of the actions of Go as an actress who has already begun to secure a large
fan base and is building up her acting skills with superior visuals and diverse images.
The endurance to not stumble while carrying the large axis of the narrative, and a good
mask and better voice that allows you to imagine between the lines of the scenario.[34]
Moving broadcast in Disney+ from August 9 to September 20, 2023. In the series, Go
played the role of Jang Hui-soo, the daughter of Jang Ju-won (Ryu Seung-ryong), who
owns a fried chicken shop. Jang Ju-won possesses healing abilities and superhuman
strength, although he can still experience pain. He is a former gangster turned former
ANSP agent, known by the code name Guryongpo. Jang Hui-soo inherits her father's
superpowers.[35] For her portrayal, Go received the Best New Actress Award in 2023
Asia Contents Awards & Global OTT Awards.[30]
In September 2023, Go was confirmed to appear as the main character in Wise
Resident Life, a spin-off of Hospital Playlist.[36]
In December 2023, she plays the character of Lee Ji-su, a novelist who has been in a
relationship with Choi Yi-jae, the character of Seo In-guk, in the series Death's Game.[37]
