2 Look at these sentences and decide how you could rewrite them using more

a He took the sandwich and started eating it. It was like he hadn’t eaten in days!

b They walked across the park with confidence and then shouted at a child that was in
their way.

c The man laughed unkindly as the child cried, having lost her favourite toy.

d After they broke the window, they ran away as fast as they could to avoid being
discovered.

e She talked without stopping as the audience concentrated on everything she said, and
occasionally looked at the artwork.
