CHAPTER TWO

LITERATURE REVIEW
2.1. Nature and Development of Entrepreneurship

Externship is a process of creating some with value developing the necessary time and effort
assuming the companying financial psychological and personal satisfaction (Hisrich and peter,
1995).

In the middle age the terms Entrepreneurial will be used to describe both an actor and a person
management large production project. The person would not take any risks but would merely
manage the major project using the resource product. A typical Entrepreneurial in the middle age
will be mealier the person in charge of great achievement cultural works such as castle and
fortification and public buildings. Richard cantilena atoned economist and authors in the 17 00’s
developed one of the early these of the Entrepreneurial as a risk taker seeing the merchant terms
crafts man and other properties but at a certain price and sell at uncertain price. Therefore
entrepreneurial are operating at risk (Hisrich and Peter, 1987).

In the middle of 20th centuries the nation of enter prunes and innovation will be established. The
function of enter renew is performs or revolutionize more generally an united technological
possibility for producing anole one in new way opening sources of supply of materials or a new
our let for products by reorganizing a new industry. The concept of innovation and newness as
an integral part of Entrepreneurship is at the heart of this definition. In deed innovation act of
introducing something news is one the most difficult tasks for the entrepreneurs. It takes not only
he ability to create and conceptual but also to understand all the force at working in the
entrepreneurial. The newness can be anything from a new distribution system to simply a new
organization structure (Histrich and Peter 1989).

2.2. Definition of entrepreneurial and Entrepreneurship

The concept and entrepreneurs is further refined when principal and terms from a business,
management and personal respective are considered. In particular , the aspect of entrepreneur
ship terms a personal and sociological perspective have been explored this exploration is
reflected I more recent definition of internship there is an agreement that we are taking about
6
asking of behavior that includes initiative taking the organization of social / economic
mechanism to turn resources and situation to practical account. The acceptable of failure (Albert
1989, 187)

To an economist an entrepreneur is one who brings resources lab our materials and other
assistant the combinations that make their value greater than before and also one who introduce
changes, innovation and a new order. To psychology such as a person is typical driven by certain
force to scope authority to other. To business men Entrepreneurial appears as another business
the same Entrepreneurship may be annually, a source of a supply, a customer.

Entrepreneurship is the dynamic process of creating incremental wealth. The wealth created by
individual who assume the major the major risk in terms of equity time and career commitment
or producing voltmeter for some product of discovering evaluating and exploiting opportunities
which good on to verity them in the terms of new business venture.

By relating the definition of Entrepreneurship and term different books and interest it is obvious
to conceptualize entrepreneurs activity which is selected as a base stone for this research paper in
short entrepreneurs activities are activities which are performed by entrepreneurs (Ronstadwa
and Robert 1984)

2.3. Form of Entrepreneurship

The definitions given to Entrepreneurship focus on the individual entrepreneurs. An

entrepreneur’s point of a company, the benefits of having entrepreneurs is obvious.
Entrepreneurs introduce and produce new product process, and which in turn enable the
company to grow and profit. It is important to known those important factors about
entrepreneurship

The process followed by entrepreneurs is different from that followed by the independent by the
independent individual entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurial dent individual entrepreneur.
Entrepreneurial context is offered dependent of organization willing Entrepreneur. Ship often
takes place in organization that over all Entrepreneurship. In other world fail to create
environmental for Entrepreneurship. Thus entrepreneur are individual who often engage in
Entrepreneurial action in large organization without the blessing of their organization.

7
The Entrepreneurial organization the Entrepreneurial function needs not to be embodies in
physical person. Every social environment has its own ways of the entering functional , a person
working in organic action have the potential for being an entrepreneurs a who those working
indecently to start their own business .

An organization can create an environmental in which the all of members can contribute in
some fashion there entrepreneurial function. An organization that create such as entrepreneurs
environment defined as Entrepreneurial organization (Hisrichond peter 1989.p18)

2.4. Entrepreneurial Back Ground to Develop New Venture

While a wide verity aspect of entrepreneurs back ground have been exported only a few have
differentiated the entrepreneurs from general populace or managers. The back ground area
exports includes childhood family’s environment personal and age works history

Childhood family environmental specific topic in the family environment of Entrepreneurial

includes births orders parent’s occupations and relationship with parents the impact of birth order
is his had conflicting research result since Henning and Jordan found that female executive
result in the childhood receiving special attention and there by developing more self-confidence
for example of 408 female entrepreneurs. Hisrich and Brush found 50 percent to be born.
However in many studies of male and different entrepreneurs. The first born affect has not been
present. In terms of the occupation of the entrepreneurs parents. There is strong evidence that
entrepreneurs Ur tend to have self-employed. Having fairer who is self I employed provides a
strong inspiration for the entrepreneurs or not is perhaps the most important aspect of the
childhood family environment in established the desirability of entrepreneurs activities for the
individual parents are supportive and encourage independence achievement and responsibly.
This support relation of the parent appears to be most important for entrepreneurs (Hisrich and
peter 1989).The education of entrepreneurial is received significant research attention. While it is
stated the entrepreneur are less education than the general population the research finding
indicates that this clearly is not the case education will be important in the up brining of
entrepreneur . Although a formal education is not necessary for darting a new business it does
prorated top the field of the venture.

8
Personal values although many students indicates that person values are important for
entrepreneur. These studies tail to show entrepreneurs or even the population but personal values
scale for leadership as well as support aggressive benevolence conform creativity verticality and
resource seeking are important for identifying entrepreneurs. Age the relationship of age the
enter pruner carries process is also been carefully researched. it is important differentiate
between entrepreneurs age / the age of entrepreneurs reflected in the experience and
chronological age in 6terms of chronological age, most entrepreneurial initiated their
entrepreneur cares between the age of 22 and 55.Work history not only is agentive displacement
in the decision launch a new entrepreneurial is also important in the growing and eventual
success full of new venture while dissatisfaction with various aspect one’s job challenge.
Frustration and beer done often motivates he industry experience is important once the decoction
to launch have been made.

2.5. Characteristics of entrepreneurs

Need for achievement is ones of the characteristics of entrepreneurial it is measurable in a group

in individual measured by coding and individual spontaneous though for frequency will be thinks
about completing with a standard of excellent coordinating something better than bettor. People
different need for achievement and there is also a positive coordination between need for
achievements Entrepreneurial activities.

Innovation is the other characteristic of Entrepreneurial scull hammer and Karloff (1997 p. 14)
says that innovation skills can be developed and they regard Entrepreneurship and innovation as
the tasks that should be organized in a pure pose full and systematic way.

Willing takes risk is a center characteristic of entrepreneur a performance decision involving

risks that is neither very low. The risk that entrepreneur takes in starting and operating their own
business is varied.

All rounds behavior is need in enterprise characters it is a person with special knowledge or
ability who performs on activity from production up of selling goods and services. Motivation is
basically describes for entrepreneurs. The motivation for ventures out alone varies greatly the
reasons cited most frequency for becoming an enterpenerun is independent / not wanting to work
for anyone else.

9
Money is the second reason for starting a new venture for male while job satisfaction,
achievement opportunity and money are the reason in rank order for women (Hisrich and peter
1989, p.s).

2.6. Role of Entrepreneurship

The role of Entrepreneurship in economic development involves more than increasing per capital
output and income it involves initiation and constituting changes in structure of business. This
change is accompanied by growth and increasing output which allows more table divided by the
various participants.

Internship facilities change developing through innovation and creativity once theories of
economic growth depot or services for marketing but also stimulating investment interest in the
new venture create. For bringing new products and services to the market.

These entrepreneur activities significant influence the economy of the area by building the
economic base and providing job (Hisrich and peter 1989, 150).

2.7. Entrepreneur Education

The education ratification of locks of understands of career paths are significance. While they are
in collage few future enterprises realize that they will pursue Entrepreneurship as major life goal.
Even in the minority that do relatively few individuals with start a business immediately after
graduation and even will prepare for new venture creating by working in particular potion or
industry. The mandate entrepreneur continually supplements their education through books
trade journal attending seminar course in the areas. Generally skills that need to be acquired
through seminar or cause include creativity opportunity identification venture evolution and
making (Hisrich and peter 1989. 14)

10
2.8. Sources of new idea for crating and development business

There are many sources of idea for entrepreneurial. The more useful once customers’ existing
company distribution channeled government and research and development (Hisrich and peter
1989p59)
customers enter prunes are paying increasing attention to what will be the local. This can there
form monitoring ideas motioned on an informal bases or formals arranging for custom ores to
have an opportunities to expires their opinion existing companies entrepreneur should also
established more formal methods for monitor king and evaluating the product and services bring
offered by existing or new company government it would help full in finding and develop well
product in to two ways. The titles of a patient office contain numbers new product introduction.
New product idea comes from the government regulation.

Research and development the largest source for new ideas is the entrepreneur own research and
development of course formal research and development often better equipment to produce
succefull new products.

2.9. The future of entrepreneurs

As evidence by the many different definition the entrepreneur ship means different things to
different people and can views from different conceptual perspective in spite of the difference.
These are common aspects risk taking creativity independent and rewards. These are
commonalities will continue to be driving forces in the future for entrepreneur must be bighter
the age/ era of education institution government units society corporation. The governmental
unit’s society corruption. The governmental has to take increasing inserts in promoting the
growth Entrepreneurship individual is en courage to form new business and its provided
government understand that new enterprise create job and increase the economic output society
support of enterprise will also continue public support is critical in providing both motivation
and public support. Finally large company will continue to has interest in their special form of
entrepreneur ship in the future ((Hisrich and peter 1989. 19)

11
2.10. Factors Affecting Entrepreneurial Development

There are various factors that can influence the enterer’s decision to engage in a competitive
industry. These factors are:- interest rate foreign exchange availability exchange rates and
inflation , promotional institution education training and development is=institution (munish V,
2006,101)”/

recourse (Arega and Ayalew 2005, 25).

For this research the government would have been both positive and negative impact on the

Technological environment the technological change that impacts existing business takes three
basic forms. New product may emerge that can take away the demand for existing product and
eventually make them absolute. Existing product may become involve in the creation of the
product or as serves.

12
Political environment general change in political attitudes can will an impact on existing
business, as well. Change can occurs in the priorities of government spending and in the
preference for regulation governing the activities within certain industry. Entrepreneurs must
expect and adjust to change in regulation directives and laws various levels of government and
