 Biodiversity
Biodiversity is the variety of life on
earth at all its levels
That includes: genes to ecosystems,
encompass the evolutionary, ecological
and the cultural processes that sustain
life
Biodiversity includes every living thing
such as microbes, fungi and
invertebrates
We have to look after our environment,
because it helps then our healthcare and
the planet
 Biodiversity
We have the utilitarian and intrinsic
biodiversity
Utilitarian are some basic needs such as
food, fuel, shelter and medicine
The ecosystems provide crucial
services such as pollination, seed
dispersal, climate regulations and a lot
of more things
Intrinsic means that you have no
feelings to anyone or anything else
It is a philosophical concept
Biodiversity
Over the last years, humans have dominate the
planet which caused a rapid ecosystem change
The threats including habitat loss, fragmentation,
unsustainable resource use, invasive species,
pollution and global climate change
The good thing is that our power helps to let
species and wildlife to survive or alive
Over 100.000 areas are giving wildlife and species
a place to life which are protected by the people
and governments
Waste management
Over the last 40 years the human
population went up 3,331 billion people
Developing countries nearly doubled
their population (ex. India)
Because India and China have so many
people they don’t have the capacities
for there people
The people in india have dirty water,
houses which they built on their on
with rubbish, a lot of pollution that is
also a reason why the life expectancy
when down over the last years
Waste management
India‘s economy is very bad, a lot of
people work as street sellers and all the
rubbish india is producing ends in a
river or lake or is just left on the streets
The nature and the animals are also
included in this problem, because the
river and lakes are so dirty there is no
chance for living animals in the lakes
Developing countries are often to dirty
in their main cities for animals, the
animals are getting ill through that or
are dying so that a species will not exist
any more
 Land Use
The land has decreased because of
forest fires in hole Europe, through that
a lot of animals lost their habitat
The rain forest is decreased because of
companies and people
Companies are then building a big
factory there to make more profit and to
have more workers
The plants are a very important because
they can observe the dioxide/ pollution
from the air
 Land use
Peat bogs are getting destroyed,
because they have a huge water
storages
They also are very big so they have a
big area where companies or farmers
want to have their arable land
The Peat bogs have a ground which is
full with minerals
The carbon dioxide will be absorbed by
the peat bogs, they can absorbed more
then forest
 Deforestation
A lot of trees/ forest got cleared because
big companies wanted to use the land for
their production
Farmer also bought a few Hecker to use it
as a arable land
Not to forget are the forest burnings in the
summer, which cost a lot of animals their
life, because they couldn‘t except
We have to cut tree to produce paper,
pencils and a other things
Global warming
Global warming is when the planet gets
hotter in every area over some years
The planet gets hotter because we are
producing carbon dioxide
due to human activities, primarily fossil
fuel burning, which increases heat-
trapping greenhouse gas levels in
Earth’s atmosphere
The temperature is going up every
decade more then 0.2 degrees
Global warming
Through the global warming, we got/
get big storms or forest fire
Not to forget is that we have the forest
and generally the plants which can
absorbed carbon dioxide which helps
against global warming
Consequenes: Ocean temperatures
increasing, causing melting of polar ice
caps / rising sea levels / flooding /
corals are dying
Maintaining biodiversity
Cutting down trees and littering have a
negative effect on animals and plants
endangered species and cleaning lakes
and seas has a positive effect
Positiv things what humans are doing is
reforestation, using clean energy, and
protecting natural preserves and forests
to maintain the natural biodiversity
Negativ things what humans are doing
not good is overpopulation, pollution,
burning fossil fuels, and deforestation
Maintaining biodiversity

There are a lot of companies who clean

up the ocean
There are also Programmes which are
saving animals in general but also
endangered species
Through the climatic change and the
storm are there companies and normal
human who are helping each other to
save something
We have to get clean and free some the
fossil fuels, because if we don‘t do it
we will be not existing any more
