MY RESOLUTION TO BUILD A BETTER WORLD

1. I will plant trees. As we all know planting trees can produce oxygen, reduce carbon dioxide and minimize the effect of greenhouse gases. 2. I will segregate our waste. In order to minimize land pollution, we must practice the 3 Rs which is reduce, reuse and recycle. I will start this at home by segregating our waste from bio-degradable, non-biodegradable and recyclable. I will join clean up drives I will join community services in our neighbourhood, such as sweeping our front, beach combing and other activities that can help minimize land pollution. 3.

4. I will encourage others not to smoke As we all know smoking produce almostcan reduce air quality. Moreover as the tobacco plant is highly susceptible to pests and disease so to maintain their proper growth and health various chemicals and pesticides are being sprayed. For the production and packaging of the cigarette requires a lot of trees. 5. I will use eco-bags instead of plastic bags. A plastic bag does not biodegrade, plastic shopping bag is made of a man-made polymer that micro-organisms do not recognize as food. Even inhaling the smoke from burning plastic which releases dioxins and furans could cause cancer, impotence, asthma and a myriad other allergies to human beings. Plastic bags have a huge negative impact on marine life. Globally, an estimated one million birds and 100,000* marine mammals and sea turtles die every year from entanglement in, or ingestion of, plastics. 6. Organic Farming The aim of organic farming is to produce crops which have the highest nutritional values with least impact on nature. This strategy enhances the fertility of the soil, prevents soil erosion and at the same time protects the humans and animal kingdom from the side-effects of chemicals and synthetics. Many of the farm products, like, vegetables, fruit, herbs, meat, milk, eggs, etc. are produced organically by some farmers.

7. Restoration and Conservation of eco-systems A complex interaction occurs between these interior and exterior landscapes, as places remind people how to live right, and peoples behaviors affect the conditions of places. Of these places, water bodies hold exceptional significance, as nearly half of the place names in many regions of aboriginal. Apache lands are associated with water bodies or wetland organisms by preserving all of this we can have a sustainable future. 8. Hydropower A form of power derived from the energy of falling water, which may be harnessed for useful purposes. Since ancient times, hydropower has been used for irrigation and the operation of various mechanical devices, such as watermills, sawmills textile mills, dock cranes, and domestic lifts.

9. Geothermal energy Geothermal power is cost effective, reliable, sustainable, and environmentally friendly. Recent technological advances have dramatically expanded the range and size of viable resources, especially for applications such as home heating, opening a potential for widespread exploitation. Geothermal wells release greenhouse gases trapped deep within the earth, but these emissions are much lower per energy unit than those of fossil fuels. As a result, geothermal power has the potential to help mitigate global warming if widely deployed in place of fossil fuels.

10. Biomass Renewable energy source, is biological material from living, or recently living organisms. As an energy source, biomass can either be used directly, or converted into other energy products such as biofuel. Biomass is plant matter used to generate electricity with steam turbines & gasifiers or produce heat, usually by direct combustion. Examples include forest residues (such as dead trees, branches and tree stumps), yard clippings, wood chips and even municipal solid waste. In the second sense, biomass includes plant or animal matter that can be converted into fibers or other industrial chemicals, including biofuels. Industrial biomass can be grown from numerous types of plants, including miscanthus, switch grass, hemp, corn, poplar, willow, sorghum, sugarcane, bamboo, and a variety of tree species, ranging from eucalyptus to oil palm (palm oil).
