ABSTRACT

This study is primarily conducted to raise awareness among others that playing these
NFT games can help them grow their money and meet their financial goals during the
pandemic. In order to gather information from the target audience, a qualitative study
was introduced and a semi-structured interview was conducted. Their responses were
analyzed to determine whether the game can provide a good and enjoyable way to earn
money. In this study, the researchers concluded that playing online games such as Axie
Infinity is a good investment; playing this game has a high earning potential, but it is not
for everyone. The findings of this study will assist those who are interested in playing
online games to earn money in the future when they begin to invest and play these
types of online games.

 CHAPTER I:
INTRODUCTION

This research is all about on how can we earn money online especially now that we're in the

middle of the pandemic. Chapter I includes the different discussions about the study: (1)

Background of the Study, (2) Rationale, (3) Scope and Delimitation of the Study, (4) Review of

Related Literature, and lastly (5) Statement of the Problem.

A. Background of the Study

Nowadays, people struggle in their job and financial resources, and because of that

many students tend to stop their education and now becoming a bystander in their homes.

The reason is the pandemic, we are all restricted from going out and gathering from places

like our school and some places. Even though we can't go to school and our expenses may

lessen, there is the online class which require mobile data or online connection to access on

online discussion. Some students don't have enough money to buy wifi or spend money on

load for online data everyday, it is very hard for them to earn money for everyday living

much less in load.

Most people do their job through manpower like construction workers because of

the poverty but some have college degrees that works from their offices. These jobs were

limited that's why some of us come up with strategies that will help them earn money. And

here comes our technology that will help us in our need. Some people use their gadgets to
buy or sell products online, some people do online streaming but there is also one solution is

just to play a game.

A game is just a hobby or something that will relieve our stress and just for fun but

what if a game becomes a business or something that can make you earn money. This game

is not just a simple game, because just like other businesses or investment it requires money

but of course it is a legitimate. This is "Axie Infinity", a trading and battling game that allows

players to collect, breed, raise, battle, and trade creatures known as "Axies" (characters based

on axolotl), which are digitized as NFTs. Axie Infinity requires money to invest and become

your own, you can buy it online in a legitimate source and play it.

These are the reason why you should play this:

First, it can provide a good and fun way to earn income.

Second, you can extend your income. Aside from owning your own axie you can

breed them and produce more axies and then sell them to other players.

Lastly, you can play it anytime, anywhere and not an all day kind of work like part

time job. Many people earn money here and pay for their food, bills, and even debts despite

the pandemic putting us out of work.

B. RATIONALE
 Axie infinity is a blockchain-based game with a few twists and adjustments inspired

by the massively popular Pokémon game series. Breeding, raising, and battling cute creatures

is the focus of Axie Infinity. It’s a great example of how the gaming and cryptocurrency

worlds can coexist. We chose this topic because by playing this game we can earn tokens or

breed monster’s NFT’s which they can sell and earn real money We want to know how this

game change the life of Filipinos. The benefits of playing this game are (1) Earnings - The

most common way to earn money in the Axie Infinity universe is to farm and sell an in-game

item called Smooth Love Potions. As one of the required elements to breed Axies, SLP has

found a great demand in the market. (2) Critical thinking Earnings - This game will teach you

how to think deeply and ahead of every opponent you have. You will have to think deeper

than you can and will stretch your brain cells to be able to win. (3) Risk management -

Critically thinking and coming up with immediate decisions needs to be accompanied by risk

management, just like in crypto, you minimize your loss by assuring you lessen your risks,

that's just how the game goes. (4) Patience – If you lose consecutively in the battle your

chance of getting higher or bigger money is getting low patience is very important in this

game. People who want to earn money while at home is the one who is benefited from this

game especially now that we’re in this pandemic and this game doesn’t need a certificate or

any requirements compared to applying to work you need to attend job interviews.

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE

 According to Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), The unemployment rate in our

country rose to 8.9 percent-equivalent to 4.25 million Filipinos in September 2021, and the

highest since January this year. And still can increase day by day, that’s why many people

suffer because a lot of them are unemployed.

Unemployment-both voluntary and involuntary and has four types. first is Frictional

Unemployment, it occurs when people voluntarily change jobs within an economy. After a

person leaves a company, it naturally takes time to find another job. Similar to graduates

entering the workforce adds to frictional unemployment. This type of unemployment is

usually short-lived. And also least problematic from an economic standpoint. Second is

Cyclical Unemployment is the variation in the number of unemployed workers over the

course of economic upturns and downturns, unemployment rises during recessionary periods

and declines during periods of economic growth. Third is Structural Unemployment, which

comes about through a technological change in the structure of the economy in which labor

operates. Fourth is Institutional Unemployment, which results from long-term or permanent

institutional factors and incentives in the economy.

Many people are struggling when it comes to making money, especially during this

pandemic. So many people try something that they can make money from it, examples of

these are an online business, and NFT games like Axie Infinity, MIR4, and many more.

Online Business is one of the choices because this has a huge income and growth potential if

you’re good at managing a business. NFT games are those games that when you play them,
 you can have Draco and Smooth Love Potion or SLP, and these Draco and SLP are the native

cryptocurrencies of the MIR4 and Axie Infinity games. These NFT games are very popular in

our country because you will just play a game and need to strengthen your account and you

can have cryptocurrencies and you can convert it to money. In summary, these online

businesses, and NFT games like MIR4 and Axie Infinity are good for making money,

especially during this pandemic.

Scope and Delimitation

There are many ways to make money online but Axie is one of the best way to do it.

One of the largest Discord servers across the world. Axie is a famous online game to earn

money, by just playing it you can gain SLP and convert it to money. Because of that, Axie

became famous not only in the Philippines but all over the world.

The delimitations of the study could not be seek personally because of this pandemic but it can

be done by conducting some questioners to those people we know like our family members and

friends.

Statement of the Problem

The purpose of this research is to identify the ways on how to earn money online in this

time of pandemic.

This research aims to answer the following questions:

 1. How to earn money in a good and fun way.

2. How to earn amount of money even without a degree through online.

3. What are the ways on having an extra income for people.

CHAPTER II:
METHODOLOGY

Research Design
The researchers used a qualitative methodology in obtaining data in assessing The Game of

Students, in the high school students of Colegio de Santa Ana. Qualitative research is a process

of naturalistic inquiry that seeks an in-depth understanding of social phenomena within their

natural setting. Qualitative research aims to study things in their natural setting to make sense of

a phenomenon in terms of the meanings people bring to them.

Profile of Participants

The participants of this research are mixed five (5) students in Colegio de Santa Ana and five (5)

outsiders. There are ten (10) target respondents and all of them answered the given three

instruments.

Methods

The three methods used in this study:

1) Interview- the researchers interviewed (10) respondents from mixed students in Colegio De

Santa Ana and outsiders based on the research questions. 2) Survey- the researchers

conducted research on the people we interviewed. 3) Rating Scale- the researchers

conducted a survey based on research questions.

Sampling Method (Respondents)

The researchers use two types of sampling techniques which are probability and non-probability

sampling. We are using a probability sampling technique in which we use convenience sampling.
The reason for choosing this technique is that every individual using the game and services at the

main market online knows their impacts on buying these Axies, so we can find out the results on

behalf of the available population sample. A sample size of 100 was taken for conducting the

study; it denotes the number of elements to be included in the study. Due to time constraints, the

sample size chosen is small. We use random selection or chance. Probability sampling is more

complex, more challenging, and usually more costly than non-probability sampling.

Data Instrumentation

The researchers conducted an interview, and survey. A survey is a list of planned

written questions about a particular topic, with blank spaces provided for the response of

respondents to each question. A survey is both method and an instrument, it’s easy to administer,

more consistent than other methods, assures confidentiality, and minimizes biases based on

question-phrasing modes. The interview helps us, investigators, to better understand, explain,

and explore research subjects’ opinions, behavior, experiences, and phenomenon. The

researchers used data triangulation as they conducted an online survey through Google Forms to

determine their answers to the problems. For us also to see the difference and similarities in their

data answered. On top of that, data triangulation helped the researchers assess and explain each

answer. The researchers gathered data using a Google Form interview, they gave the survey and

interview at the same time. A total number of ten (10) respondents from mixed students in

Colegio de Santa Ana and outsiders answered the survey and interview. This way of collecting

data is fast and consumes less time compared to others. The questionnaire consists of ten (10)
questions for the survey and three (3) questions for the interview related to does playing NFT

games is a good investment, enjoyable to play, and how much they earn. Nonetheless, all

collected data will be kept private and will be used for academic purposes only.

Procedure

The researchers gave the survey questionnaires and rating scales to the high school students. The

respondents are 5 high school students coming from Colegio de Santa Ana and another 5 high

school students outside Colegio de Santa Ana.

Methods of Analysis

For this research, the study was performed using observation and a questionnaire within 3 weeks

between February 9 to February 28, 2022, which was used as an interview guide for the

researchers.

 CHAPTER III:
RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

This chapter discusses the data gathered, the results of the statistical analysis done, and the
interpretation of findings from the survey questionnaires completed by 5 students of Colegio de
Santa Ana and 5 people outside the Colegio de Santa Ana. The purpose of this study is to help
people how to earn money online especially now that we're in the middle of the pandemic.

Survey questionnaires were given to 5 students of Colegio de Santa Ana and 5 people
outside the Colegio de Santa Ana. A total of ten (10) people completed the survey.

What nft game do you play?

It shows that all of the respondents play Axie while the others also play Pegaxy.
How old are you?
It shows that 60% of the target respondents are mostly minor or student.

How long do you play?

It shows that 80% plays only 1-3 hours a day and they just probably use NFT Games as
sideline.
How much do you earn?
It shows that most of them earn around 5 000-10 000 that’s why they don’t put much
time on playing NFT Games.

Do you think playing this game is a good investment?

It shows that most of them agree that NFT Game is a good investment while 30% says
that NFT Game is not a good investment.
Does playing NFT Games affects your academic/work?
It shows that 70% says that NFT Games doesn’t affect their academic/work while 30%
says that it effects on their work/academics.

CHAPTER IV:
CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION

Based on the data result, students and outsiders think playing NFT games like Axie

Infinity is a good investment. However, when they play this kind of game it influences their

individual tasks like their job work, schoolwork, housework, etc. And right now, the exchange

rate of SLP to the peso is currently low. That’s why most of them play hard to get more SLP so

when the SLP increases their earnings will also increase. We can tell that playing this kind of

game is worth time mostly to people because it has high earning potential but for other people,

this kind of game is not worth time because they don’t know how to play the game well. We can

also tell that most of the people don’t put off their work/schoolwork for the NFT game they play,

they still balance their tasks. We can also tell that the stress they feel in the NFT game they play

is high because of the need to be known in the game to understand more of it and the pressure of

getting the SLP because there are many good players playing the game. We can also tell that

playing NFT games helps them financially because it has high earning potential especially if the

SLP is high. Earning money online has high earning potential. This can be your second money-
making investment besides your work or if you’re still a student you can make money through

these NFT games to help your family financially. The objective of this research is to help

students and other people know playing these NFT games can help their money grow and meet

their financial goals. To make the money they earn grow into wealth, they need to consider

investment objectives options. It can help them achieve their short-term and long-term financial

goals without too much stress or trouble.

The study aims to answer the following questions:

1. How to earn money in a good and fun way?

 You can earn money in a good and fun way by playing

NFT games such as axie. Play-to-earn NFT games are where players

can monetize their time while playing video games. This model is the

latest addition to the NFT market in the metaverse. It will strike a big

deal in the future if those constant players of video games try to

fantasize about their playing time being turned into moneymaking.

2. How to earn big amount of money even without a degree through

online.
  Even though some of the students have no degree they can

still earn huge amount of money by playing NFT games it can be a

nice income for those students who does not have any degree.

3. What are the ways on having an extra income for students?

 Playing axie or any NFT games can give students extra

income because anyone can play these games it can help players earn

them while playing. After which, they can use them for staking,

voting, and trading in its NFT marketplace.
