The first pie chart shows information about the purposes of energy usage in a common

household in Australia, and the second pie chart illustrates the amount of greenhouse gas emitted

from Australian families which was caused by the use of energy.

In Australia,72% of energy is used for heating purposes, consistuting 42% used for heating

reasons and 30% for water heating. The consumption of energy led by the use of other appliances

makes up a much smaller share(15%),with other reasons accounting for 13% collectively.

However, the use of energy for various kinds of reasons couldn`t completely determine the

emission of greenhouse gas.Emissions caused by water heating account for the largest of the sum

of emission(consistuting almost a third). The other appliances’are the second biggest

contributor, with 28%.Similar amounts are caused by heating and refrigeration(both around

15%),with cooling and lighting being responsible for 11% jointly.

Overall,it is noticeable that though heating contributes to the most in energy use,its

emissions are not that enormous. This reflects that the use of energy doesn`t have direct

relationship between emission.(167)
