Baja played its role during

pandemic to not let the hopes of

artists die.
When the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic hit India, the government agencies and public healthcare
institutions justly responded by enforcing a country-wide lockdown accompanied with closure of
non-essential institutions and downsizing of events including religious and cultural functions,
entertainment functions, etc. While the pandemic left an indelible mark on countless lives in our
country, the local artists too had a difficult time. They were unable to find any work for several
months. During this time, we provided financial support to thousands of folk music artists in
states such as UP, MP, Rajasthan, Bihar and Maharashtra. We employed more than 100 people
and artists from remote parts and paid them for their contribution in scouting local talent and in
folk music creation.

We also got coverage from national newspapers in their local editions.

The artists through Baja platform found a way to increase their reach
and fan following thus, finding several employment opportunities too.
