I learned how the concepts in a rhetorical situation can be applied in everyday life while

completing the Sell Your Product assignment. During this assignment, my group and I developed
a product called the cooling cap. I was able to further develop the skills necessary to engage with
an audience, consider the purpose of my product, and adapt to the specific context in which the
product will be used. We described the product with words that entice the audience and get them
to purchase the product. As the product designer in the group, I incorporated the different items
used to make the product. Then we include what makes our product unique and why it is better
to purchase our product rather than other products.
Through applying the concepts of a rhetorical situation, we explain the audience,
exigence, and constraints. We explain our target audience and how the product can be used for
their needs, appealing to their preferences and values, and addressing the challenges and
concerns. We provide the exigence of the product and explain the purpose of the product for the
audience and their demands. The constraints included in the assignment provide the limitations
we may encounter when creating the product. In addition, we explained how the constraints will
be addressed. This assignment taught me how to apply rhetorical principles to practical and
professional situations. After this assignment, I can craft a message that persuades the audience
to buy the product with relevance to the specific audience and context.
