What Klindam acne solution is used for
For the local treatment of acne.
How Klindam acne solution works
Clindamycin is an antibiotic which kills
bacterias which are susceptible to it.
Before you use Klindam acne solution
- When you must not use it
- allergic to clindamycin or lincomycin,
history of inflammation of the intestines,
inflammation of the bowels or antibiotic - Things to be careful of
associated inflammation of the colon.
- Before you start to use it
This medication is to be applied with
caution to areas around the eyes, mucous
membranes or broken skin as it may cause
irritation or stinging sensation, diarrhea, Side effects
bloody diarrhea and inflammation of the
colon.
- Taking other medicines
Interactions are rare with local application dermatitis, severe inflammation of the big
of clindamycin, except medicines
reducing gastrointestinal movement
(opiates or diphenoxylate with atropine)
which may worsen the condition of

significant diarrhea occurs, the
application should be discontinued.
How to use Klindam acne solution
- How much to use
Wash the affected area clean before
applying medication. Apply a thin layer
of solution to the affected area twice
daily. Shake well before application.
- When to use it
Use this medicine as directed by your
doctor or pharmacist.
- How long to use it
You must complete the course of
medication. You should check with your
doctor or pharmacist.
- If you forget to use it - Ingredients:
Do not take a double dose to make up - Active ingredient: clindamycin
for a forgotten dose. phosphate
- Inactive ingredients: deionised water,

Do not stop taking medication although
feeling better after a few days, until the
prescribed course is finished.
Safety for use in pregnancy has not been
established. If pregnant or become
pregnant or breast-feeding during
treatment, should not take Klindam acne
solution unless as advised by doctor.
Abdominal pain, gastrointestinal
disturbances, inflammation of hair follicles
due to infection, stinging of the eyes, skin
dryness, oily skin sensitization, contact
intestines or diarrhea.

drug reactions directly to the National
Centre for Adverse Drug Reaction
or visiting the website npra.moh.gov.my

Storage and Disposal of Klindam acne
solution
- Storage
Store upright in cool, dry place below
30oC. Protect from light. Keep away from
children.
- Disposal
Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of
medicines no longer required.
