Solid Liquid And Gas Each state of matter has propperties that determine how it behaves. A solid has a definite volume and shape and it's atoms are tightly packed. A liquid has a definite volume but no a define shape. It's atoms are more loosely packed and they flow past each other with more speed. And a gas no definite volume or shape. It's atoms are spread out, moving quickly past each other. Now we're going todo experiment. We are going to demmostrate that if we mix a solid and a liquid material we can actually create a gas. We need: 1. Vinegar 2. Baking soda 3. Empty plastic Bottle of water 4. A spoon 5. A ballon Let's start by pouring the baking soda in the ballon. We have the vinegar in the bottle Now we are going to lif the ballon and allow the baking soda to go into the bottle. The reaction creates a gas that inflates the ballon. Thank you.
