Update new vehicle data 2024

Dear valued customer,

vehicle data is now available! This applies to our Windows-based wheel aligners as well as
to all Q.Lign devices!
For Windows-based devices, the update is carried out as usual either via direct purchase
in the Software Center or via the Key Card.
For Q.Lign we are introducing a fee-based license for vehicle data for the first time. In
order to remain consistent, the licensing process will be possible both via the Software
Center and the Key Card. However, the new software structure offers several advantages:

- For ease of understanding, the versioning of Q.Lign vehicle data will be on a

calendar year basis (e.g. 2024, 2025, etc.)
- The vehicle data license entitles the user to use all vehicle data for one calendar
year. Multiple packages can be installed and used simultaneously with the same
license (e.g. Europe + USA).
- Vehicle data can also be installed without a license. Only the use of the data is
controlled by the license.
- NO electronic dongle is required! Instead, the license is linked to the product key of
the display module. Each display module generates its own unique key.
- All further vehicle data updates in the same calendar year can be easily installed
and used with the already active license
- The license can also be activated with a Key Card. Q.Lign devices receive a new
Key Card, the existing Key Cards for Windows devices are not compatible! The
licensing process remains the same, except for one new feature: Q.Lign Key Cards
are valid for 365 days! During this period, new licenses can be generated if a
newer license is available in the Software Center. This is to ensure that devices
that are delivered at the beginning of 2025, for example, can also activate the
vehicle data license 2025 as soon as it becomes available.

 Licensing procedure for Q.Lign and Q.Lign T-Series:

1. There are no dongles, only a product key. This product key consists of a two-digit product
identifier ("QL" for Q.Lign and "QT" for Q.Lign T series) and a 20-digit device number. This
can be found in the Q.Lign settings under "Installation --> License management".

2. With the product identifier and the device number, a license can be created in the
Software Center in the same way as for our Windows devices. You can download the
license manually and will also receive it via email. The vehicle spec files (.bpk) can also be
downloaded here and no longer need to be searched for via the Documentation Center.

 2. After generating and purchasing of the license, both the database package and the license
need to be loaded onto the Q.Lign system. This transfer is possible either via a USB stick
or directly via the file browser.

3. After successfully adding a valid license and database package, the vehicle data can be
used in full. If multiple vehicle databases are installed simultaneously, you can quickly
toggle between the different regions in the vehicle selection.

4. Activation of the license via key card is carried out in the same way as for Windows
devices. After receiving the license, follow the steps as described above. The Key Card
entitles you to activate further licenses within 365 days of the first activation, so keep it in a
safe place.
