A SPIRITUAL RELIGION

The Bible is a book of revealed religion, and this religion is based upon the revelation which was
made in Christ Jesus, the Son of God.

THE BIBLE REVELATION IS….

 Religion is a personal relation of the Soul to God.

 This relationship is through Faith in Christ Jesus.

 Jesus is beyond our sight, and we can reach him only by faith.

 The religion of Trust is a spiritual relationship.

I. WHAT IT IS NOT
A-Religion is not a mere formal connection with a church organization.

B-A Spiritual religion does not consist on going through with certain ceremonies and
rites.

C-Nor is the Spiritual religion merely the observance of certain rules of conduct.

1-Standards of living should be admired

2-Morality and ethical culture are not in and of

themselves a Spiritual Religion. (Cf. they are products

Of a Spiritual Religion.)

II. WHAT IT IS
A-A Spiritual Religion is Personal, and must be founded upon the one man and his own
relationship to God.

1-The Individual Will

2-The Individual Decision

B-A Spiritual Religion is Based altogether upon Faith.

1-Faith is a deliberate and purposeful dependence on God.

2-Faith is belief made real to each one of us, and so

becoming the governing principle of our lives.

C-A Spiritual Religion, which is personal, and with faith as its

Bond, believes that God has direct connection with the soul.

1-God, by Grace loved us, when we didn’t deserve it

2-He has reached out to save us and to keep us.

3-He touches each individual life in regeneration, and

also in prayer and providence.

4-The touch of God is real and direct.

5-Spiritual Religion has faith that the personal God

holds relation with each single soul in unseen but real

ways.

D-A Spiritual Religion is, therefore, a personal faith in the grace

of God as being ministered directly to each one of us, and it

believes that the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity,
 has as his special work the comforting and strengthening of

the believers.

1-The Holy Spirit (A person as truly as ourselves) He

deals with us constantly in our own personal life.

2-The Holy Spirit ministers to the needs of our souls.

3-The Holy Spirit comes to us not only through the

revelation in the Bible, but comes to us directly in our

own lives.

III. SPIRITUAL RELIGION DEFINED

 Depends upon personal faith in the gracious God, and belief that through the Holy
Spirit, god is constantly in touch with each human soul.

 There is between God and man a direct relationship, which is unseen and through
faith, but which is real and constant.

 This relationship gives us spiritual religion.
