Keep in mind!

We use a structure called Present Perfect to talk about life experiences.

Example: I have been to Nagua 2 times (in my life). She has never smoked (in her life).

We make this structure using HAVE/HAS + verb in Past Participle

I have been to Nagua 2 times. ▪ She has never smoked.

For regular verbs, Past Participle is the same as Past Simple: ending in -ED.
For irregular verbs, Past Participle has different forms. Find a list at the end of the Unit.

Exercise #3
Write the Past Participle of each one of the verbs below. You can review the list at the end of the Unit.

BE DRINK RUN
BREAK EAT SING
BUY FEEL SWIM
DO HAVE WRITE

Exercise #4
Order the following words to form a logical sentence. If the information in the sentence is true for
you, draw a happy face . If the information is not true for you, draw a sad face .

1. have / had / a / I / never / cold _________________________________________________________

2. I / sung / public / have / in _________________________________________________________

3. marathon / in / run / never / have / I / a ____________________________________________________

4. done / have / gym / in / I /exercise / a ____________________________________________________

Exercise #5
Use some of the ideas in the boxes to write 3 sentences that are true for you, based on your own
personal experiences. If your answer is positive, do not write when you did the action.

HAVE AN ACCIDENT BREAK AN ARM BUY MEDICINE FEEL DIZZY FAINT IN PUBLIC
