LIST OF SONGS
All things bright and beautiful The first Noel, the angel did say,
Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay
All creatures great and small
In fields where they lay keeping their sheep,
All things wise and wonderful
On a cold winter’s night that was so deep.
The good God made them all
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Born is the King of Israel
They looked up and saw a star
Shining in the east, beyond them far,
And to the earth it gave great light,
And so it continued both day and night.
LONG TIME AGO IN BETHLEHEM ON THE PATEN
Jingle bells, jingle bells, Is not the bread we break a sharing in our Lord?
jingle all the way, Is not the cup we bless the blood of Christ outpoured?
Oh what fun it is to ride
in a one-horse open sleigh……….(2)
The seed which falls on rock will wither and will die.
The seed within good ground will flower and have life.
A day or two ago,
I thought I’d take a ride,
As wheat upon the hills was gathered and was grown,
And soon Miss Fanny Bright
Was seated by my side; so may the church of God be gathered into one.
The horse was lean and lank;
Misfortune seemed his lot;
He got into a drifted bank,
And we, we got upsot.
SPEAK TO MY SOUL, DEAR JESUS HARK! THE HERALD ANGELS SING
Speak to my soul, dear Jesus,
Speak now in tend’rest tone; Hark! The herald angels sing,
Whisper in loving kindness, “Glory to the new-born King;
“Thou art not left alone.” Peace on earth, and mercy mild,
Open my heart to hear Thee, God and sinners reconciled!”
Quickly to hear Thy voice, Joyful, all ye nations, rise,
Fill Thou my soul with praises, join the triumph of the skies;
Let me in Thee rejoice. With th’angelic host proclaim,
“Christ is born in Bethlehem!”
Speak Thou in softest whispers Hark! The herald angels sing,
Whispers of love to me, “Glory to the newborn King.”
“Thou shalt be always conq’ror,
Thou shalt be always free.” Christ, by highest heav’n adored,
Speak Thou to me each day, Lord, Christ the everlasting Lord!
Always in tend’rest tone, Late in time behold Him come,
Let me now hear Thy whisper, offspring of the Virgin’s womb.
“Thou art not left alone.” Veiled in flesh the Godhead see;
Speak to Thy children ever, hail th’incarnate Deity,
Lead in the holy way; Pleased as man with men to dwell,
Fill them with joy and gladness, Jesus, our Emmanuel.
Teach them to watch and pray. Hark! The herald angels sing,
May they in consecration “Glory to the newborn King.”
Yield their whole lives to Thee,
Hasten Thy coming kingdom, Hail the heav’n-born Prince of Peace!
Till our dear Lord we see. Hail the Sun of Righteousness!
Light and life to all He brings,
Speak now as in the old time ris’n with healing in His wings.
Thou didst reveal Thy will; Mild he lays His glory by,
Let me know all my duty, born that man no more may die,
Let me Thy law fulfill. Born to raise the sons of earth,
Lead me to glorify Thee, born to give them second birth.
Help me to show Thy praise, Hark! The herald angels sing,
Gladly to do Thy bidding, “Glory to the newborn King.”
Honor Thee all my days.
GO TELL IT ON THE MOUNTAIN If we eat of the Lord
And we drink of the Lord
Like the Lord we all shall be
Go, tell it on the mountain Then we live with His life
over the hills and everywhere; And we share in His love
Go, tell it on the mountain And His truth will make us free
that Jesus Christ is born.
The Lord tells us His plans
Listen to His commands
While shepherds kept their watching “To the Father come through Me
o’er silent flocks by night, Share this banquet of love
Behold, throughout the heavens Eat my flesh, drink my blood
there shone a holy light. Do this in my memory”
Eat the bread and drink the wine The cattle are lowing, the baby awakes
Flesh and blood of the Lord divine But little Lord Jesus no crying He makes;
Share His life, it is yours and mine I love Thee, Lord Jesus! Look down from the sky,
For we are one in His design And stay by my cradle till morning is nigh.
Come let’s share in the passion of the Lord Be near me, Lord Jesus, I ask Thee to stay
In the Blessed Sacrament Close by me forever, and love me, I pray;
Come let’s share the resurrection of the Lord Bless all the dear children in Thy tender care,
In the Blessed Sacrament And fit us for heaven to live with Thee there.
AWAY IN A MANGER C H R I S T M A S
O perfect Love, all human tho’t transcending
ANGELS WE HAVE HEARD ON HIGH Lowly we kneel in prayer before Thy throne
That theirs may be the love which knows no ending
Whom thou for ever more dost join in one
Angels we have heard on high
Sweetly singing o’er the plains
And the mountains in reply O perfect Life, be Thou their full assurance
Echo back their joyous strain. Of tender charity and steadfast faith
Of patient hope and quiet brave endurance
Gloria, in excelsis Deo (2) With childlike trust that fears no pain nor death
Shepherds, why this jubilee? Grant them the joy which brightens earthly sorrow
Why your joyous strain prolong? Grant them the peace which calms all earthly strife
Say what may the tidings be, And to life’s day the glorious unknown morrow
Which inspire your heav’nly song? That dawns upon eternal love and life
Come to Bethlehem and see I’m Your child, Lord Jesus, I’m Your child
Him whose birth the angels sing; I’m Your child, Lord Jesus, I’m Your child
Come, adore on bended knee, Every day, every hour
Christ the Lord, the new-born King. I can feel Your healing power
I’m Your child, Lord Jesus, I’m Your child
Gloria, in excelsis Deo (2)
Hold my hand, Lord Jesus, hold my hand…
Lead me on, Lord Jesus, lead me on…
I love You, Lord Jesus, I love You…
O PERFECT LOVE HOW GREAT THOU ART
O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder
Consider all the works Thy hands have made
I see the stars, I hear the mighty thunder
Thy power throughout the universe displayed
He is alive, He has risen from the dead Jesus is with us is risen is with us
Hallelu, hallelujah Jesus is risen is with us today
We too shall rise like the Lord to life anew
Hallelu, hallelujah Jesus is the Lord. Jesus is the Lord
ALLELUIA, GIVE THANKS BLESSED ASSURANCE
E A S T E R
I have found a wondrous Savior,
Jesus Christ, The Soul’s Delight
Ev’ry blessing of His favor ALLELUIA, CHRIST HAS RISEN
Fills my heart with hope so bright.
V Is there one who would not weep You’ve been my guide since I was very young
You showed a way when I needed someone’s help
Whelmed in miseries so deep
And now I’m lonely, nobody’s by my side
Christ’s dear Mother to behold? Take heed my Lord and hear my prayer
VI Can the human heart refrain
From partaking in her pain I will proclaim Your name to all my friends
In that Mother’s pain untold? Thou art our God and our Father too
Your praise shall sound from every voice, O Lord
VII Bruised, derided, cursed, defiled Soon every heart will worship You
She beheld her tender Child
All with bloody scourges rent
Were you there when they crucified my Lord King of my life I crown thee now
Were you there when they crucified my Lord Thine shall the glory be
Oh! Sometimes it causes me to tremble, Lest I forget thy thorn-crowned brow
tremble, tremble Lead me to Calvary
Were you there when they crucified my Lord
