Calculate BMI of 4-5 Family Members

What is BMI?
BMI stands for Body Mass Index. It is a way to figure out your approximate level
of body fat in an easy, inexpensive way. It's a number based on your weight and
height that can help you tell if you are at a healthy weight for your height. In
general, the higher the number, the more body fat a person has.

It was invented by Adolphe Quetelet and thus is also known as Quetelet Index.
It can be determined by the formula Body weight ÷ (Height of person)²;
where weight is represented in Kilogram and height is represented in Metres.

It enables a person to choose a sport that suits his/her body type but the major
advantage is that it allows a person to think of precautionary measures to stay in
the “Normal” range of measurement for which he or she is supposed to do
adequate exercise and also improve ones own diet for better and efficient
results. This also ensures the calculation of the overall average fitness of various
countries which is demonstrated in the next page.
Vital Stats:
According to the World
Health Organisation
(2016), there are
around 2 billion adults
overweight, of those
650 million are
considered to be
affected by obesity

Fact check:
The global mean BMI for
men and women in 2016
were 24.5 and 25 – just on
the threshold from the
WHO's 'healthy' to
'overweight' classification.
This has increased from a
mean BMI of 21.7 and 22 in
the 1970s.

The graph above indicates the average BMI of the countries around the world. It can
be interpreted from the graph that North American, Australian and Northern part of Asia
and such other parts globally are having more BMI Ratio than required which classifies
those nations as “Unfit” when compared to others.
The following project has the motto to create awareness about the BMI of family
members.
