Capstone Project August 2019 - May 2020
Examining fear: Anti-Chinese Politics in California that lead to the 1882 Chinese Exclusion Act
Capstone project to demonstrate the skills gained during my undergraduate career in the Social
and Behavioral Global Studies Department (SBGS) at CSUMB. The purpose of this study was to
comprehend the reasoning behind the approval of the 1882 Chinese Exclusion Act and analyze
how this act has impacted immigration reform laws in the present with the Latin American
population.

Service Learning Research February 2020 - May 2020


Examining the economic impact of silver in Mexico during the 19th century
Worked alongside Dr. Gooch, assistant professor of Economics at the Naval Postgraduate
School, to complete research for their silver mining in Mexico project. My role was to analyze
the economic impact silver had in Mexico during the 19th century. I would translate articles,
locate original documents from the Spanish and Mexican government and the effect the mint
factories had on Mexico’s infrastructure and society. I also worked alongside two peers who
focused on other aspects of how silver mining affected Mexico.

Worked in collaboration with the Pajaro Valley Unified School District Coordinator of Scholarships to
organize the event to celebrate graduating seniors that received a scholarship. Also presented the awards
to recipients and their families at the event.

Pajaro Valley High School Loves You Fundraiser April 2022


Work in collaboration with the Pajaro Valley High School Local Scholarship Committee to raise funds for
graduating students from Pajaro Valley High School to receive scholarships. We plan different
fundraisers, promote, and collect the money to distribute to students before they graduate.
