I. Problem
Eggplant production faces various challenges, including pests, diseases, and
environmental factors, which can hinder yields and sustainability if not effectively
addressed.

II. Title of the Study

Cultivating Change: A Comprehensive Study on Challenges and Opportunities in
Eggplant Production and Sustainability.

III. Objective of the Study

1. To investigate the multifaceted challenges facing eggplant production,
encompassing environmental, economic, and social aspects.
2. To identify sustainable strategies and interventions to mitigate these challenges.
3. To enhance productivity, quality, and livelihoods for eggplant farmers.

IV. Null Hypothesis

1. There is no significant difference in eggplant yield between farms implementing
conventional farming practices and those employing sustainable farming practices.

V. Materials to be Used
1. Eggplant seeds or seedlings
2. Fertilizers
3. Pruning tools
4. Irrigation equipment

VI. Data to be Gathered

1. Eggplant fruit quality
2. Climate and weather conditions
3. Soil pH, texture, nutrient levels, organic matter content, and eggplant growth
productivity.

II. No. of Replications: 5

III. Experimental Units: A lot of 10 seedlings

IV. Total no. of experimental units: 4 treatments x 5 replications = 20 units

V. Total no. of seedlings needed in the experiment: 200 seedlings

1. Correction Factor (CF) = (Grand Total)²/n

CF = (174.8)²/20 = 1,564.12

2. Total Sum of Squares (TSS) = -CF

6.9²+7.0²+9.7²+7.8²+9.0²+9.7²+6.8²+10.0²+8.7²+8.0²+6.5²+7.5²+9.7²+9.0²+8.6²+9
.9²+8.9²+9.0²+6.9²+8.5²= 1,564.12
1,564.12-1527.8 = 36.32

3. Treatment Sum of Squares (TrSS)

(treat. Total)²/ r-CF = 31.4²+35.2²+32.7²+34.7²+40.8² = 6,163.02

= 1,540.76 - 1,527.8 = 12.9

4. Error Sum of Square (ESS) = TSS-TrSS
36.32 - 12.96 = 23.36

5. Treat Mean Square (TrMS) = TrSS/TrDF

12.96/4 = 3.24

6. Error Mean Square (EMS) = ESS/EDF

23.36/20 = 1.17

7. Treat F Computed (TrFC) = TrMS/EMS

3.24/1.17 = 2.77
