3: Using tenses in writing

1. Write a paragraph of about 100 words in class outlining your
experiences on your first day on campus and what has
happened to you so far by using the four types of tenses you
have studied in this unit. Read the paragraph to your neighbor;
some of you will be selected by your teacher to read your
paragraphs to the whole class.
MY LIFE IN CAMPUS
I have faced different amazing and desperate things since march 2023. I have
joined Hawassa university in 2023. I come from Debre Markos. When I were
comingto Hawassa University, I were very sad. because, I come lonely with out any
family or friend and I were new for hawassa I did not know before.

After I had gotten to the University, I met one student who come from
Debremarkos. His name is Ayele and he was third year. He made my life easy in
different ways, for instance He had helpedme to register and get my dorm , caffe
and class. this was amazing for me because I did not think that.

How have you get campus food ? Is it good or bad?

I have gotten campus food difficult for the first time. There is stomach ache after
feeding but, I forget and adapt it after a few days. Campus life have different
problems but we should pass it patience. There are many ways but we must
choose the best one . We are youth and we may face different problems but we
must take care there is time for all thing .

Finally I advice you to manage and restrict your self. One mistake will affect your
life .Further more , We will live for our future plan and think about our family. If
we study hard , we will get a good grade and join a good department .we must
pass problems with patience.
