 At the time of the commencement of the Constitution, it has 395 articles in 22 parts
and 8 schedules.

 Already the longest constitution in the world, it has now grown to 448 articles in 25
parts, 12 schedules.

 The Constitution of India, whose chief architect was Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, was
adopted and enacted by the Constituent Assembly on 26th November 1949 and fully
came into force on 26th January 1950.

 Constitution is the highest law of the land.

What is constitution?
Constitution is the power map which defines the powers and functions of different
organs of the government.

 On the basis of amendability it has been divided into two parts.
