In this study, it is aimed to produce samples in solid form with a diameter range of
2-5 mm by using the basic raw materials consisting of Precipitated Calcium Carbonate
(PCC) based CaO and calcitic brucite (CB), calcium aluminate (CA) cement and
mayenite phases as binders and to improve the strength and CO 2 capture performance of
these samples at high temperatures. Within the scope of this study, a total of 8 samples,
including 4 samples with different component ratios and 4 samples obtained as a result
of the modification process made by infiltration on these 4 samples, were successfully
produced. The CA binder component contributed to the wet strength of the samples and
especially the mayenite phase ratio observed in the samples helped to improve the
stabilization of the samples. Natural calcitic brucite additive sintered CaO grains during
the calcination process of shaped CaO based adsorbents, thus contributing to the
problem of reducing the active CaO ratio. The adsorbents optimized at the end of the
dopping and infiltration processes carried out within the scope of this study will help to
reduce CO2 emission in industrial applications. In addition, by providing a new use for
the use of CaO and CB raw materials both in Turkiye and and in the World will
contribute to the economy.
