How to remove the Period Close option from the General Accounting manager role?
SOLUTION
Step 1).
To customize any roles, copy the role “General Accounting Manager” Job role.
Navigate to Tools > Security Console > Roles > Search for “General Accounting Manager” Job
Role
Step 3).
In Function Security Policies Tab, the screen will list all the privilege for the job role.
Please click on Load Inherited policies.
Search for Manage Period Close Activities privilege, the below screen shows that Manage period
close activities are inherited by financial Analyst Custom and general Accountant Custom role.
The system won’t allow to delete these roles from this screen.
Open the Financial Analyst Custom role and General Accountant Custom role.
It is possible to delete those privileges from the above roles, as both the above are customer roles
which is not going to disturb the standard roles. The custom roles (financial analyst custom and
General Accountant Custom role) are created because of choosing the option 'Copy top role and
inherited role').
If the option 'Copy top role' is chosen, the system will inherit the privilege from Seeded roles
called Financial Analyst and General Accountant role).
Make a note for inherited job roles which need to be modified.
