natural wonders of Bolivia

Lake Titicaca

Lake Titicaca, located at 3,812 m above sea level, became the highest
commercially navigable lake in the world.

Due to its volume of water, it is also the largest lake in South America. The
lake is located at the northern end of the Altiplano basin high in the Andes
between the border of Peru and Bolivia. It is composed of two almost
separated sub-basins that are joined by the Strait of Tiquina which is 800
m across from the narrowest point.

Laguna Colorada

Within the Potosino plateau, Laguna Colorada is a high-altitude paradise,

at least for the pink flamingos that inhabit it. With a coastal perimeter of 35
kilometers, the views from any angle seem unreal.

The lake contains borax islands, whose white color contrasts nicely with the
reddish color of its waters, which is caused by red sediments and
pigmentation of some algae.

Madidi National Park

Madidi is a national park high in the Amazon River basin in Bolivia.

Established in 1995, it has an area of 18,958 square kilometers, and jointly

protected (although not necessarily contiguous) with areas such as
Manuripi-Heath, Apolobamba, and (across the border with Peru) the Manu
Biosphere Reserve, Madidi is part of one of the largest protected areas in
the world.

Toro Toro Park

This park is a natural wonder that houses the mysterious footprints of

dinosaurs, the flight of colorful birds and caves for adventure tourism.

In the market there are offers ranging from three days and two nights in
the Toro Toro national park. The tour begins in Cochabamba. In Toro Toro
you will visit the Umajalanta Cavern, Verjel, Canyon and the Golondrinas
Waterfall.
The Uyuni Salt Flats

The Uyuni salt flat is the largest salt desert in the world, and is located at
3,650 meters above sea level, southwest of Bolivia. Especially in the rainy
season, the mirror of water on a white blanket generates postcards that
seem impossible.

In the middle of the white plain, Incahuasi Island, also known as “Fish
Island,” is one of the most interesting points of the salt flat, hiding hundreds
of giant cacti that can reach 10 meters in height.

All of these natural beauties come from Bolivia, which is located in Latin America.
Each month, some of them vary, such as the Uyuni Salt Flat, which varies where
there are months when it rains and it becomes a puddle of water for a good photo
and other times everything dries up.
