About CTA Engagement Contracts in PDF format

These contracts were created in Adobe Acrobat. They are designed for use in only the latest (or very recent,
back to v.8) versions of Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader – including Adobe 'Document Cloud'.

Adobe Reader 10: form usability, but some versions (depending on the operating system – most notably
Windows XP) will have problems saving completed forms.
Adobe Reader 11: form usability and saving capability
Adobe Reader DC: form usability and saving capability
Acrobat DC: Standard (with services): provides full form functionality (form usability and saving capability,
securing policies)

Note about 3rd party applications: Equity does not guarantee any usability with any 3rd party PDF reader
applications or utilities. Using 3rd party applications (e.g., Foxit Reader, Nitro PDF, or PDF-XChange) may
corrupt the data in your contract and render it unusable/unreadable to anyone else.

Note for Mac users: PDF files on your Mac may open in the ‘Preview’ application by default. Check the top-
left corner of your screen to indicate which program is currently running, and ensure that the contract is
open in Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader.

Internet browsers: Every Internet browser handles PDF documents differently. PDF forms (such as these
CTA Engagement Contracts) with advanced features such as fillable fields, radio buttons, and signatures
encounter varying and inconsistent levels of success. Therefore it is not recommended to use these
contracts in any Internet browser.

Securing your contract with Adobe Acrobat: For detailed instructions on securing a PDF document in
Adobe Acrobat, visit the link below and follow the instructions that reference the ability to ‘restrict editing’ of
the document.

Securing your contract with Adobe Reader: Although Adobe Reader does not contain the same
sophisticated security features available in Acrobat, it is possible to re-print the PDF file and render the
fillable fields uneditable. Once you have filled out the contract and wish to restrict all editing, choose ‘file >
print’ and select ‘PDF’ (this may be displayed as ‘Adobe PDF’) from your list of available printers. Click
‘Print’ and save the file with a new file name.
