Emotional Intelligence (EQ)
Emotions:
Emotions are feelings that occur when a person interacts with other people.
Emotions play an important role in shaping ones personality: Love, surprise,
happiness, sadness, sorrow, fear and worry are some basic emotions.
Generally people deal in two ways with their emotions which are extremes.
Some people suppress their feelings to make everyone comfortable. They
feel deep pain.
Some people over express their feelings to make everyone get hurt. They
enjoy sadistic joy.
Intelligence:
Intelligence is using brain than feelings, which means thinking and using the
faculty of reason to take decisions based on the practicality of cause and effect in
real life situations. Intelligence depends on scientific process.
Emotional Intelligence
Emotional intelligence, also known as emotional quotient (EQ), is the ability to
understand, use, and manage your own emotions in positive ways to relieve stress,
communicate effectively, empathize with others, overcome challenges and defuse
(resolve) conflicts.
It includes self-awareness, self-regulations, motivations, empathy and social skills.
Importance of Emotional Intelligence:
The widest range of acceptance by people.
Better performance in employment.
Healthy and effective inter personal relations.
Easy and flexible life.
Physical and mental health.
Self-motivated and result oriented life.

How to enhance Emotional Intelligence?
It is a dynamic skill which is capable of changing. By one’s own effort one can
improve one’s Emotional Intelligence.
Following are some of the guidelines to improve EQ
Change your perspective.
Connect with the people empathetically.
Enjoy and instill sense of humor in and around you.
Resolve conflicts positively.
Inculcate moral output.
Take the full responsibility of your emotions.
Understand how your emotions affect others.
Physical exercise and outdoor play.
Recreation and Hobbies.
