Ans. Social reformers played a very important role in bringing about a change in the Indian
society -
• They brought about awareness amongst Indians about their rights and united them as
Indians.
• They educated people and empowered them to fight against social evils prevailing in
the Indian society.
• They spread their beliefs by publishing newspapers and magazines in all languages
and preached the message of nationalism amongst the different sections of society.

improve trade within the country. But it helped in connecting the nation and spreading the

communicate with each other through means of a telegraph, which helped to propagate the
idea of nationalism far and wide.
