PlantPAx® System Estimator
What is it?

The PlantPAx® System Estimator (PSE) is a tool that allows you

to estimate sizing and loading of system elements based on
your application requirements

• Wizard in Integrated Architecture® Builder

• Define, size, and generate BOM for your system

• Automatically estimates system loading and provides

warnings to help prevent issues in the field

• Fully customizable! Create custom sizing rules

based on your application

What’s new in the PSE?
Support for PlantPAx® 5.0 system design!

• The new Process ControlLogix® controllers are supported. The Process

controllers support the new library of Process objects and Logix Tag
Based Alarming. Process controllers also include the new PlantPAx®
tasking model.
• Dual Data Server configuration is now possible for PASS servers

PlantPAx
• Operator workstations now support up to 3000 unique tags per display ®

• Controller communication modules have been updated to support both

converged and unconverged (isolated to controller chassis) networks Distributed Control System
• Network loading calculations have been updated to support 5x80
controllers 5.0
• 5094 and 5069 I/O are supported
• 5580 redundant controllers are supported. Guidelines are provided to help
clarify the impact of data cross-loading based on requirements.
• A new network infrastructure selection workflow based on modular
subsystem design. The new reference architectures include Redundant
(PRP), Resilient (DLR), and Simplex.

What’s new in the PSE?
New Architectures are modular and defined at the subsystem level

Redundant – based on the

PRP protocol and fully
redundant
Resilient – based on the
DLR protocol and single
fault tolerant
Simplex – Cost effective
option for non-critical
systems
