BLACK MASTERBATCH –

Alok has developed an extensive range of black masterbatches which comprises specially
selected carbon blacks (18nm to 65nm) to give a spread of properties from high jetness, UV
protection, and food contact approval to more economical blacks for imparting only
coloration. Besides a standard range, we also customize our black masterbatches as per
customer needs.

Product Range and Applications

An extensive standard range is available in PE, PP, PS, PC, PET, PA, and Universal carriers. Alok Black
Masterbatch product line offers loadings of up to 55% carbon black at various carbon black particle
sizes.

Tailor-made products can be formulated on request. Brown tone, blue tone, and red tone grades are
available. Three series are offered depending on the type of carbon black pigment used:

STANDARD BLACK MASTERBATCHES –

These products are based on FEF and HAF carbon-black in LDPE, LLDPE, PP, or PS carriers. They are
mainly used for coloring, while at the same time they increase the UV resistance of plastic products.
Functional additives such as antistatic, slip, and processing aids are incorporated in certain products
for a dual effect.

PREMIUM BLACK MASTERBATCHES –

They are based on P-type and R.C.F. carbon black, often in combination with various additives such
as antioxidants and processing aids. Due to the small particle size of the carbon-black (below 20 nm)
and its perfect dispersion in the masterbatch, these types offer plastic products higher opacity and
maximum UV resistance.

These are special economy grades based on SRF and GPF carbon black and micronized minerals such
as calcium carbonate, talc, etc, which increase the rigidity of the final products and ensure faster
mold cooling, i.e., increased output.
