Task: Read the following passage carefully and write an email to Mr.
Vishnu explaining him about the promo table and relevant information
needed.

The standard basic price in our catalog for a foldable promotion table is Rs. 2500 for a minimum
quantity of 25 pcs.
If the client wants to place an order of 100pcs, then we can allow a discount of 10% on that and
if the quantity is above 500 pcs, we throw in another 10% discount.
We also offer the bag to carry the table for which we charge Rs. 300 usually and is discounted on
a similar basis as the bag.
The table is made out of heavy duty corrugated plastic and can hold a weight of 50kg easily. Our
table has a 3ft x 1ft top size. The weight of this table is only 4kg which is half of that of most
tables available in the market (usually priced between 1700-2200) so it becomes very easy to
carry for promoters.
We believe these tables are useful for telecom clients like Vodafone and Airtel and that they
might use them in thousands for road and mall promotions in the long run. Telecom clients have
a different marketing and purchase team in each state. The marketing team is responsible for
selecting the kind of product they want to buy (the table in this case), and forwarding the request
to the purchase team. The purchase team is then responsible for finding alternatives to the chosen
product, negotiating with the supplier and closing the order. Purchase teams have targets for
heavy price reduction on anything they buy as long as it serves the purpose for which the
marketing team had intended. Usually purchase teams are not very well versed with the
functioning or USPs of the product and tend to reduce pricing by comparing the specifications
one supplier has offered vs. the others or for what they are currently procuring. Purchase teams
have a target of closing with a minimum 10-15% cost reduction on the initial quoted price from a
supplier, and usually they prefer to work with the supplier who has provided the sample unless
there isn't too much difference from other suppliers and their targets can be met.
The marketing team of Vodafone Punjab contacted us for these tables. They wanted to use 50
tables as a pilot activity. After a round of negotiations, we closed the order at Rs. 2200 per table
in the interest of larger quantities in the future.
Through some reference you arranged the contact number of Mr. Vishnu - Marketing Head of
Vodafone Maharashtra. You had a very brief conversation with him and explained how your
company offers a lighter promotion table which has recently been provided to Punjab team.
Mr. Vishnu felt interested, and asked you to share all details about the table as well as the price
offered to Punjab team and if it works out, he can also plan a pilot order of approx 100pcs for an
upcoming activity.
