BACK WHEN I FIRST DISCOVERED AVNS YEARS AGO, THEY WERE PRETTY
BARE BONES AND DON’T HAVE MANY OF THE MODERN FEATURES ALOT OF
AVNS HAVE NOW A DAYS.

W
e’ve seen remastered/remakes of
our beloved childhood games like
Final Fantasy, Persona, Zelda and
a bunch more! If we had the ability to give
an old AVN a new face lift, what would you
choose?
For me, “Once in a Life Time”, “Acting
Lessons”, and “Sisterly Lust” are all games
I would love to see with better graphics,
animation, music and UI. These games were
each devs 1st project and have upgraded
their hardware and skills ever since! Imagine
what their 1st project would
be like with the new bells and
whistles they implemented in
their current abilities.
Share some of your old AVNs
that were near and dear to your
heart, you’d throw money at if
they ever got that upgrade they
deserve! I would love to hear about

Acting lessons, good girl gone bad are
the two I believe should get a remastered
version....
also the Dev’s of Babysitter have done a
great job remaking the game so far.

devs starting a new project compared to

None. None at all. It’s VERY rare that I
have the time to go back an re-play a
game after I’ve completed it. I have so
many things waiting to play, that I’d just
as soon dev work on new stuff. All devs
get better as they continue to master
their craft. The technology is changing
and improving over time. Remaking stuff
would just be chasing your tail. OiaL,
Now and Then, LoF and AL are exactly
what they should have been in my brain.
I’d rather have Eternum, Interim Domain,
U4ia and Being a DIK come out faster.

Lust. That’s the first VN I’ve ever played
and till this day Bella remains one of my
top 5 Love Interests. To be able to see her

Sisterly Lust and Once in a life time
are great, but I think old games have
a special kind of charm, in the end it’s
all about what the developer wants,
maybe Caribidis is planning a remaster,
maybe a new game, I believe this kind
of projects are worth the effort and wait
time when theres passion.

I play for the story
Acting Lessons could definitely benefit
from a remaster, but it’s honestly too
soon. It’s the same for most VNs. Yes they
can be considered ancient compared
to the quality of the new ones but the
industry really hasn’t reached the point
of remaking/remastering yet. Maybe one
day.

Some extra additions since last time I posted include:

Introduction of the Date of First Release property. To

make my life easier for the next AVN awards.

Introduction of the Version Released property. To let

you know how long it’s been since a game’s update
was released.

The Support Them category now includes Discord

information for all games that link it in their main
menu. A bunch of SubscribeStars have been added.

The Length property has been changed from ranges to

exact numbers to help players know how long a game
is likely to last.

The Wildcard category is now called Not for Me. To

better represent what it actually means.

Creation of the AVN Essential category to reward the

games that paved the way. I promise

Feel free to drop any ideas for quality-of-life changes

For example, I can’t remember any names because my memory sucks, but I remember a lot of fun
little games on newgrounds that still had a story, but they were mercifully short, and to the point. I
really wish I could find more like this now, and play a bunch of games from the 00’s and early to mid
2010’s.

in 07’ or 08’ South Park had a Avn-esqe game. I vaguely
remember it was about a festival, maybe Woodstock or
something but you go around and sleep with random
women in a barn but you can’t get caught or something

even now AVNs feels kinda new, in the sense that it is a
media that is not fully mature, I can not speak for VNs
with out adult element as the majority of it seems more
eastern and I am not much fun of the artstyle.

Playstation 2 had a Playboy game and some others more

I played newgrounds on and off since middle school but
don’t really the names of the ones I liked to be honest.
Then around 2017 - 2019 not sure of the year I found the
zone had no idea what AVN’s were back then didn’t really
play any for the story would just look for the porn but
a few I did. Like My girlfriend’s Amnesia ( my personal
favorite and still consider S tier to this day because of
nostalgia). Then I played a good chunk of DMD , as well
as Teachers Pet and College Life. Any other AVN’s from
back then I cant recall the names of them.
Then I started to actually pick up AVN’s as a hobby over
normal games more often last summer.

It’s a good story, very funny if you’re
paying attention, stunning women,

dialogue that comes close to being
as romantic. The dialogue during sex
scenes adds to the heat of the lewds.
If all you want are fap fests, Chasing

While I do have some problems with it, it is well written, has good visuals and I quite like the contained scope of
the story, that are not many AVNs that are that well balanced. That said I think that can understand where you
come from, I do think that it is a incredible game but I also think that at times it is a bit overhyped.

There are a couple of SGs, but the game is in general VERY focused on the two LIs. This has really allowed the
dev to delve very deeply into backstory of them both resulting in very three dimensional characters. Most girls in
other games are paper thin as far a characterization and backstory goes.

Well, it’s always a matter of personal opinion.
But if you ask me, CS has: cute story, decently written, good visuals, characters look very good (Jaye is just top
5 LI’s), they are also believable, animations are great too. I’m not saying it’s perfect and everyone should like it
but very few VNs check those boxes. So yeah... I think it deserves the praise.
